Post by ActonArthur » Tue Mar 12, 2024 4:08 pm

I have had a quite poor day today with each selection coming nowhere near.
I am going in again tomorrow. Any tips are most welcome

Bet on an Irish trainer. A horse trained by Henry de Bromhead is usually a good shout.

I was going to put my very small bets on along those lines, but I missed the first race which was the only one he won yesterday. I don't know how many horses Willie Mullins has running, but he had a good day, only problem in betting is he seems to have more than one horse in most races (5 in the first race today!). Can't help with tips though, don't really watch enough for that.

I’ve been following a tipster from the app OLBG although he did not do me too well yesterday Im sticking with him,
I am in a king of the punters competition in my old north harrow local; 3 tips each day. The person who wins the most takes the pot, I’m chasing already 😂
Todays losers
1:30 jingko blue (5)
2:10 American Mike (1)
4:50 triple trade (12)

Stay home with a good book is best tip and you know it - but will not follow of course
This time we'll get it right - just believe!

For what it's worth, my tips for Thursday

13:30 4. Ginnys Destiny
14:50 2. Bainbridge
15:30 4. Crambo
Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

Surprisingly better today. I was on
My way back from Malta but got back for the 2:50.
These were my bets and 2 won

2:50 protektorat
3:30 Noble Yeats (9)
4:10 shake em up arry(7)
5:30 dom of Mary (24)

The 2:50 and 4:10 although slightly perturbed to see redknapp in the winners enclosure for the latter.
Only 1 of the 2 were in my KOTP competition but I am around £300 off the winner currently. A good win tomorrow and I might be in with an outside change there.
I’ll be back for more punishment tomorrow

Nice result Arthur 😀

Harry was a gamboling around like a little lamb. Bless him.

Aside from my obvious lack of ability to find winners, this year's festival seems a bit lacking... suppose Henderson stable virus and Nichols also pulling horses just takes the sheen off things a bit.

Despite his obvious brilliance, I really dislike seeing a 14 runner race where half, yes 7, of the firld are turned out by the same trainer, Willie Mullins. Not sure how this is going to change but his evident near monopoly is really sitting on my fun.

Roll on Aintree.

thanks biscuit i do agree with your sentiment on mullins having so many runners. although for those as old as me, i have memories of Michael dickinson having the first 5 home in the gold cup and other trainers seeming to have it all sewn up.

I surely also remember the famous five... In typical fashion I was 'on' Silver Buck a year too late.

Thinking about it now I first bet on the Gold Cup in '78 and Francome/Winter won for me on Midnight Court My very first bet!! Haven't picked the winner since!! So I rarely bet on the R's, but have done so 3 or 4 times this season and won each time :)
