Well...I'm Excited

Post by Markybabar » Fri Nov 03, 2023 10:26 pm

A week ago, I couldn't feel any more numb to all things QPR and a sense of apathy that I haven't felt for many years. We were staring down the barrel of another humiliation against Leicester and the sinking feeling had not only kicked in but I felt there was absolutely no way but down.

Then, the last 7 days happened and this bloody club has reeled me back in from the depths.

I have no knowledge on Marti Cifuentes. No clue of what he is like nor what kind of football he will get us playing with the squad that we have. However, much like MB did, he talks a very very good game. He seems no fool to me even from the interviews and press I have seen him deliver over the last 3 days. So much so that he has given me something that I have not had for months - literal months & that is hope.

Hope, that we can actually get out of this. Hope, we can start playing some kind of football that we can be proud of. Hope, that we can win a few games at home. Hope, that our players will find the confidence to care enough to do better and be better for the club and for themselves.

Of course, this could all be a pipe dream and we will go down with a whimper etc etc etc but do you know what? I'm excited to see one way or another and for now - being excited about QPR again is enough.

COME ON YOU R'SSS!

Excellent post aniclap which precisely describes my own turn around in feelings for "all things QPR" over the last week. I suspect many others would also identify with this post. :)
Question everything.

Believe me. I know when a Spaniard is talking bollocks. He is not. So it Depends if the players that we have are responsive .

Love this. It feels like a new beginning, and I am looking forward to going to Rotherham this afternoon.

Comments from players, notably Ilias Chair have been positive and let’s hope there is something this afternoon to put a smile back on our collective faces.

It may not be a win, but maybe some Green shoots of recovery.

I do feel a lot more optimistic than I have done for a number of weeks now, then again, not long until kick off!

I've probably experienced one too many false dawns at QPR to feel excited just right now.
The players have now got to show on the pitch that they REALLY care!

Come on you R's!

Agree with everything on this thread. I do sense some football IQ from Marti and am genuinely optimistic, what can possibly go wrong? :D

Cifuentes sounds like the real deal.

My concern now are with the players, right now they should be the biggest worry
