Re: Welcome to Martí Cifuentes
Luckily there is another International break two games away so Marti will have plenty of time with the majority of his squad to get his ideas across.

Re: Welcome to Martí Cifuentes
I have next to zero idea what it takes to be a football manager in this league bit as look as the outcome is a joined up display with 100% commitment then the results will come.
Be great to see Willock back to his best and chair using his head a bit more.
We have enough about us to be competitive in this keague

I'd like to see the re-emergence of those left wing triangles between Chair, Willock and the chap from Glasgow Rangers whose name escapes me.BiscuitRanger wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 1:30 pmI have next to zero idea what it takes to be a football manager in this league bit as look as the outcome is a joined up display with 100% commitment then the results will come.

Paal could take the place of the other bloke.

I have a good feeling about this one.Wegerle wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 12:27 pmDon't forget that we were all in awe with the initial interviews Beale spat out. No more than verbal diarrhea in hindsight.
For me Marti is a big unknown. Not my personal choice but he has my full backing now although he will have to deliver quickly to turn our fate around. No pressure...!

Lee Wallace. The sort of player we needed last season but Ferdy got shot.222gers wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 2:10 pmI'd like to see the re-emergence of those left wing triangles between Chair, Willock and the chap from Glasgow Rangers whose name escapes me.BiscuitRanger wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 1:30 pmI have next to zero idea what it takes to be a football manager in this league bit as look as the outcome is a joined up display with 100% commitment then the results will come.

Yes, Lee Wallace. He was a good left back, but at that stage of his career unable to stay fit for long periods. Paal can be good but I feel better going forward than covering in defence.Montag wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 9:00 pmLee Wallace. Larkeche looks like he could be a good player in the making. Maybe the new gaffer can help him develop.
I just hope we can get something from the next two games allowing us to use the upcoming international break to give Marti some time to evaluate.
Blimey, hark at me trying to sound like an expert….

Would you mind reminding me which football club took advantage of this egregious failure from our Director of Football?Montag wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 9:00 pmLee Wallace. He retired but still had another season in him, IMO. Can you remind me which club has taken on the services of our former esteemed DoF? In any role?

If he had another season in him why did he retire? Not everyone decision Les made was wrong.

"He retired but still had another season in him, IMO" - what I don't understand Montag is why, when you seem to know everything about how Financial Systems should be applied, Football Tactics, Personnel Management etc is why you don't buy the club yourself because you clearly must be uber rich having applied your skills to general life?

This time we'll get it right - just believe!

Re: Welcome to Martí Cifuentes
I'm hoping we signed him in the nick of time. People say you need 50 polnts to be sure of staying up. So, 41 more points from 31 games. Our strike ”force” has managed 2 goals between them in 15 matches.
As some on here have said, this next international break will give MC some much needed time to get them playing as he wants.
I know strikers are harder to find and sign than defenders but GA’s mania for signing defenders looks crazy now.

Not to me it doesn't. At the end of last season Gaz would of known that he couldn't rely on JCS to stay fit and that Jimmy Dunne wasn't all that. Dickie was sold, Balogun left so we were short. Field has already had to play centre back this season so I don't think we can complain about GA's signings.

Not sure about Dunne - I thought when playing alongside Dickie during the Warbs years they looked a good pairing.Rbee wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 2:25 pmNot to me it doesn't. This season he's hardly got started through injury and came back alongside a player that was more than likely to smash into smithereens at any minute.
I hope Dickie gets a respectful welcome on Saturday. He was really good early on for us but the situation at the club nearly destroyed him.
Should he have been tougher ? I suppose so but the club was in the throes of self- inflicted destruction. The real culprits were higher up the food chain.
