Time will tell if he is the next MC for us and we go down with a whimper or if he is the new Pep and we play on fire.

There will be a heavy reckonyng if this doesn't work out well. And we as fans will pay it.

Re: Welcome to Martí Cifuentes
After the initial shock and surprise, 24hrs later I'm now excited about the prospect of what he can bring to the club. Imagine if he got Chair, Willock and Dykes all linking up, terrorising defences like they did under Beale. It won't matter if we concede every game as we'll be scoring loads again too.
Imagine. Here's hoping

...Willock and Chair played a great football only one year ago before the world cup....they ran and passed the ball and opened defences and even scored....so we can hope they can go back doing it again...beaglebum wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 8:50 pmAfter the initial shock and surprise, 24hrs later I'm now excited about the prospect of what he can bring to the club. All managerial appoitments are a gamble. But I ike the idea that this one is an unknown quantity to the players too. They have a fresh start too. First training session will be interesting. If he can start by getting on top of disciplin, that would be a great start.
May the 'Marti Party' begin.

It's wasn't exactly working out with GA and the fans are suffering.

Re: Welcome to Martí Cifuentes
Really hope this works out and this guy starts himself off on the ladder to huge success in this country but think it more likely he will be gone by early new year and we will be adrift with another manager to pay off and wondering why we didn’t take the safe bet (Warnock) and be mid table by that point . However you look at it it’s a huge gamble and to me a very strange decision and it makes me wonder if someone at the top has said , well if we slide a couple of leagues to become a slightly larger fish in a small pool we may have success and attract some investment to move us back upwards , anyway I think it’s a shocking appointment and advise everyone to get their life savings on us being relegated .

That made me laugh out loud, but I've got to say that I share those concerns. We've had a rough time of late and it's difficult to have faith in those running the club. It's a big gamble and not one I would've taken. Still, who knows? It may work and I will be screaming my head off on 11th November trying to will us a win. C'mon Marti, you can do it!!

A really tough match ahead at Rotherham - Colbeck and Dozey suspended, Cook and JSC probably out injured and Rotherham will see this as a great chance to pull away.
You'd have to be a great believer in New Manager Bounce to expect a win here.

Seen his interview and was impressed. Could be another Arteta in the making.

Don't forget that we were all in awe with the initial interviews Beale spat out. No more than verbal diarrhea in hindsight.
For me Marti is a big unknown. Not my personal choice but he has my full backing now although he will have to deliver quickly to turn our fate around. No pressure...!
