Well that's the international break gone and Gareth still here.
I made some unpleasant remarks about him in another thread ( never post when you've had a few down your neck ).
So maybe for 'oodersfield ….

Begovic
Cannon
JCS
Dunne
Paal
Field
Chair
Colback
Smyth
Dykes
Kolli

That to me, should not be a team doomed to relegation in October.
I haven't seen anything from Kolli that would suggest he's anywhere near being able to play at Championship level.
I'm afraid running about enthusiastically and winding up the opposition won't cut it on their own.

Although to be fair, it never did Marc Bircham any harm. Maybe the lad just needs to dye his hair blue
And what great hair he has 😀

I don't see anything yet from the young man that he's ready. Doesn't look so pacey, have differential skills nor killer striker instinct so not sure where he fits. Still you enough to develop though.
Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

So it seems GA has the backing from Hoos.

Lets be honest here, that line up should be competing at the other end of the table.

What would make you think that ?

Aside from a couple of months under Beale, our form has been in the poor to terrible range for 18 months now.

And if we're tanked at Huddersfield?
By the way no one's mentioned Gary Rowatt yet.

What do you mean by the other end of the table? Because you surely cannot be serious in thinking that team is strong enough to compete at the top end of the Championship? A strike force of one guy who's scored about 4 goals in 12 months and another that's never started a league match. Three quarters of the back four have consistently proven for a year now that they're capable of being the worst defence in the football league.

Other end of the table? Pure fantasy.

And therein lies the problem. Everything you have said Libertine is absolutely correct. However, so many of our fans have unrealistic expectations. They will be the ones who bought into Uncle Tony's ... "we will be playing in the Champions League" I forget the time frame he put on it, but it was absolute rot.

If we avoid relegation, it will will have been a good season ... it's a simple as that.

In league 1 maybe

Excluding Cannon as we haven’t seen him, Field and Chair are the only players that would get much interest. Dykes maybe for right club. Paal possibly.

What kind of result would it actually take for the board to act and remove Ainsworth and replace him with an outside appointment? I think if we lost 10-0 tomorrow, he still wouldn't get sacked.

Methinks there is something rotten in the state of Shepherds Bush.
It seems to go deeper than just the current manager. We've endured terrible results under quite a few managers and a lot of different players. It's as if there is a malaise at the club that we are not privy to.

I may be clutching at straws but, to be fair. we gave a good account of ourselves against Ipswich & Southampton, both of whom are at the other end of the table.
Question everything.

What is it they say about the hallmark of a good team? They seem to lose even when they play well… oh no wait that doesn’t sound right…

It's a complete impasse.
We can't sack him really as we can't afford to pay him off and no other recognised manager would come here at present anyway.
Could we come to some arrangement with GA and promote someone from within ? Doubtful.
Even so they would have a set of players some of whom will down tools if someone upsets them. Pro footballers ? In name only.

If it's about the money, at what point do you factor in the cost of relegation? That will be huge.

There are four options in my view:

Neil Warnock - he has experience of picking teams up when they are down and out. We are flat on our back. He has done it before, not just once. His age means it would be a very short term appointment, but I believe he would have the desired effect.

John Eustace - knows the club, did a good job at Birmingham, and has something to prove.

Gary Rowett - available, lots of experience at this level did a decent job at Millwall and got them punching above their weight.

AN Other - similar to the Mick Beale appointment (NO Not MICK Beale for lots of reasons. Never, ever again.) Someone, none of us expect, or maybe have even heard of, like Farke and Frank when they went to Norwich and Brentford.
