Re: Luke Freeman
You came up with the names, not me. And if we're definitively judging players as good signings after 3 or 4 games, or in Colback's case, 1, then the lowering of standards is continuing apace.
The idea that a club with very little money can afford to sign someone like Freeman merely as cover or back-up and potentially reward him with a contract extension if he manages 20 games is insane to me. We need bodies for sure, and I would much rather we spend what we have on some younger legs. Maybe the manager could use his much vaunted knowledge of the lower divisions and players who have been rejected elsewhere.
If Freeman is still widely rated, he'll have better offers anyway.

Re: Luke Freeman
Quite. This was Ainsworths main selling point and we have seen not a smidgeon of what he promised. None of the signings are going to earn a penny for us if we want to sell them on.

Yeah, I agree he has been pretty good. But I still think the quality he's shown overall so far means he shouldn't really be one of the first names on the team sheet (which he is if we are playing two in the middle), and also that we don't really have enough else in that position.

So, it looks like no one took Luke on? Odd really. He was very good for us.

Re: Luke Freeman
Am I correct in thinking that free agents are not subject to the window “ slamming shut “ ?
If so, we could still be in for Luke and Chris Martin and even…….a return on a short term contract for Amos.

You are correct Sir.

Re: Luke Freeman
If we end up with Chris Martin coming back in, somebody really ought to be fired. Pathetic stuff.
