Goodnight WA Hoop.

Half time, 4-0. They say pre season games mean nothing but the performance at Oxford was so bad that today was always going to be pretty much the same. We are clueless and so, so lightweight. As Andy Sinton said Watford are playing at a canter exactly as Oxford were.

The players are simply not good enough and I am sorry but Gaz, bearing in mind the performance at Oxford, has not set us up correctly for this game.

Mr Ainsworth is rapadly on course to elclipe the biggest defeat of his managerial CAREER which was only 5 months ago, on 14 March 2023, following the 6-1 humiliation v Blackpool - welcome to the Championship Gareth

""I've never had a six in my career and that's a real trouncing. It's not good enough and I just want to apologise to all the fans - for QPR that's an unacceptable performance."

That would be the same Blackpool that are now in League One and sacked manager, Mick McCarthy, just 3 weeks later.

To be honest Rbee, this team would also struggle in League One as we saw last week. We are very far away from being a decent Championship side.

Agree 100% but Gaz has still played in to Watford's hands.

I think someone knows something we don't!

Not only is the score completely wrong (for now), they still have us as the home team on Xscores. Either that or they're about 6 months ahead and we can all make a killing on the return fixture!

Fair play to Dykes who has won just about every header.

Bottom of the table after the first game, what are the chances of us staying there all season… has that happened before?

I think everything has been said. We hoped for better but reality struck once again.
Ainsworth might do well to skip the post match interview. I don't think many of us can take 'great bunch of lads' 'much better second half', 'we're getting there', 'a few positives today' etc. once again.

Could well depend on at least three other teams getting rather hefty points dedeuctions!

ON a positive note, we lost the first half and drew the second

Warburton, beale and Critchley all picked Willock so why doesn't Ainsworth? The 11 on the pitch must be crying out for our best player to be amongst them. So whats the issue?
