That is my point "they" as you put it realised they could not whether it was a loophole in the rules or some other reason "they" were not happy. We did not get punished because "they" had no ruling allowing then to punish us.UxbridgeR wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 9:14 amSurely if "they" really had it it in for us, they would have deducted points over the Faurlin affair and stopped us from being automatically promoted.
Also, points deductions aren't necessarily a soft option. Derby, Sheffield Wednesday, Wigan and Reading have all been relegated from the Championship in recent years as a result of being hit with them.

Yep. We significantly broke the rules as they were at that time, knowing what the scale of the punishment was likely to be. That the punishment was changed later is irrelevant, we knew what it was at the time. As you said further down the thread others have been relegated due to the sanctions they've received. We're in the same division and the owners are paying the fine themselves.UxbridgeR wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 4:09 pmAre we still kidding ourselves that "they" have got it in for little old QPR ?
We brazenly broke the rules, bragged about it, fought it all the way for years rather than just holding our hands up to what we'd done, and were punished accordingly.
We deserved everything we got, and arguably got off lightly.
Have never understood why "they" supposedly have it in for us.

Fernandes assumed that we would be in the Premier League and get away with it.

What I would love to see, is Chelski to have a nightmare season and get relegated. Now that would be really funny on so many levels. But the biggest fun would be to see them trying to sort out the financial mess with the EFL.

Do you really think the FL would question Chelsea. Did they not come to an agreement with Leicester and Bournemouth and fineZENITH R wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 2:58 pmWhat I would love to see, is Chelski to have a nightmare season and get relegated. them whatever they could find down the side of the Premie League sofa. Just Google “Leicester and Bournemouth FFP”
Bournemouth will pay the EFL £4.75m to settle a breach of financial fair play (FFP) rules when they were in the Championship in 2014/15.
Leicester City have agreed to pay the Football League £3.1m to settle the league's long-running claim that the club breached financial fair play rules when they made a £21m loss in their 2013-14 season.

We are upstarts. They have never accepted us at the big table. Even in '76, they ensured the scousards were nicely rested for their last match against Wolves by allowing them to move the fixture back. A gesture of kindness towards the scallys that resulted in them being champions and QPR not ever being champions. Not ever. A crime against the beautiful game you might say.
