Just seen that Joe Gubbins has gone to Accrington Stanley on loan last week, that one must have passed me by.

I mean, kid's not good enough at this level at this stage in his career so it makes sense

Getting worried as there is no press coverage of the much needed striker and midfielder.
Just concerned a big club will come in (last minute)for our 2 best players and not have plan B and C in place!
Hope we are well prepared to act accordingly.
What are your thoughts on the above?

Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

In my opinion.
Chair and Field , or any other player that can unsettle the team performance even further.

You would hope there is movement behind the scenes, but it does seem very quiet. If someone offers good money for any our players at the moment, we're probably not in much of a position to turn it down. I'm not sure I'd have much faith that we will have a back-up plan at short notice either.Ironman442 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 7:47 pmGetting worried as there is no press coverage of the much needed striker and midfielder.

I'm surprised no club has come in for Chair. I wonder though if we have a tendency to overrate our players and a more knowing eye may see them in a different light.UxbridgeR wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 8:03 amYou would hope there is movement behind the scenes, but it does seem very quiet. I often wonder the same, based on the evidence of interest / fees / who actually gets sold it's hard not to conclude that we don't overrate our players.
That said, some clubs definitely have a knack of boosting reputations and fees, I'd love to know what that secret sauce is. As would the club, I'm sure.
Hoping with Chair that we/his agent might have been able to tout him for a move to Saudi for a bit of extra cash, as we did with Chery a few years ago. As much as I love Ilias, he's done his bit and based on what we saw last year - I won't be shedding a tear over any of these players leaving.

My view on Chair has always been that while he looks good for us I can't see him ever fitting in and being good for another club.
Players like Eze you can see would go on to bigger and better things but I am not sure what it is with Chair, maybe it is his slight build...I have just never seen him as a player that will really kick on beyond being a good Championship player for QPR.

It'd seem we're holding out to pick up a few Loans/Free Transfers.

Linked with Terence Kongolo from Foolem. 28yo CB/LB.
Twitter and some other journos think we're looking at Josh Knight from Posh. 25yo CB.

Pah, I'm going to bed early - anyone doing the same ensure you've got some earplugs. What with these transfer windows “ slamming shut”.
