I did that same thing with that guy on a managment training day. It was super odd to start with but the end result was doing the freakin Haka, everyone bought in, had a great time and bonded. Job done. It, of course, looks weird from the outside and I can tell you it’s a great experience and he’s a talented fella.
Interesting.
Thanks for posting redinjun

For all the negative comments about this ... if we win today, and win well ... everyone will suddenly think it was a great idea and hail GA as a genius.
Fingers crossed.

“Everyone” won’t think that, because making a direct correlation between those two things would be ridiculously simplistic.

Whilst I agree with you Uxy, and nearly always do, maybe a bit harsh here. I doubt many here are "it was the Sun wot won it" types. Many have their superstitions, maybe consciously chose to mix causation/corellation. It's Fandom after all.
And I also acknowledge that you said the supposition was "ridiculously simplistic" and it wasn't aimed at any individual, so likely mine is a moot point.
I just wanted to post something today., because I've a bad feeling about the Rotherham game today (2-0) and don't want to be depressed further after 5.
Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

Harsh.
What is your feeling when The All Blacks do the Haka?
Several ABs are Maori, it's pride thing for Kiwi's, not a way of making money.
Yes I get that but I was wondering if Satch was ok with it in context?
Are you asking if I’m ok with the ABs doing the Haka of with a Māori teaching it as a team building exercise?

It does. By all means do this stuff behind closed doors, but don't put it out there for the world to see.
Especially when the lad looks
half-cast anyway, has a washed down Kiwi accent and has spent 7+ years in the UK doing it. It's just a gimmick.

He looks FLIPPING what? Firstly who pribbling idle-headed giglet still thinks that’s an acceptable term and who the pribbling idle-headed giglet judges someone’s credentials or cultural sensibilities based on their skin.
Think there's a cultural difference here. Half-Caste is commonly used here and isn't offensive.
Where is here? In the UK it’s been recognised as pejorative for about 4 decades at least.

You just know that the first of our goal celebrations will have a Haka theme!

My location is quite clearly displayed next to my avatar. I'm probably a little bit better placed to make comments about NZ Culture.
I probably phrased my statement above wrong, but in essence I agree with you. It is a cheap lousy gimmick from the club with several team members making a mockery of a culture.
This from wiki:
The use of haka outside of New Zealand is controversial, as it can be considered culturally insensitive or offensive. There is also the matter of lyrical content of a haka possibly being at odds with the clothing, national origins, or other attributes of those performing it (such as a haka referencing New Zealand being performed by Americans, or one incorporating a reference to red or black clothing being performed by a sports team with grey or blue uniforms).

Haka's are very powerful. There's a huge amount of energy and pride in doing them.

Worth a try but didn't work. What would with these players? Physical torture? Maybe.

Tbf your location doesn’t show on mobile. I’m not disputing your knowledge of NZ culture I’m saying it’s been recognized a pejorative term in the UK for about 40 years. I’ll have to take your word that it’s not problematic in NZ and whether that’s a good thing.
But we agree on why the club shouldn’t have partaken.

I"d like to add that in South Africa the term "Coloured" is officially recognised as an ethnicity and not deemed racist. It's on virtually every government or official form. I'm neither 'coloured' or South African, and always refuse to answer questions about my ethnicity. I mean WTF does it matter? I usually hand write N/A or just leave it blank.
Having returned last year to UK and eventually registering with a new GP I was faced with another ethnicity question on the new patient application form. I left it blank. Received an e- mail a few days later saying I was registered but can I complete my registration form
Well I said I'm not answering this question....so let's see what happens.
Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

It was only about an hour so just the basic one I guess, it seemed similar to the All Blacks version.
