It was Hughes and Redknap that exacerbated the transfer mess. NW got us promoted on a very limited budget as he has with many other clubs and is very capable of working within a budget.
We had one of the highest wage bills in the championship winning season. Warnock didn't get us up on a limited budget.
My memory was that Tarrabt was our biggest signing at £1M. Is that not so? Who else did he fork out on? Hill? Derry? Most of those players were already here.

It's possible to not want to carry on as we are, and also not believe Neil Warnock is the answer. There are always other options.
And one is to get rid of people that can't do the jobs that they've been given and replace them with people that can. I'm glad we agree on that.

Our recruitment was absolutely phenomenal that season. We did spend some money, but we did some great business.

Taarabt ?
Kenny was around £1m ?
Mackie £500k ?
Orr £450k ?

We spent some money on loans too (Routledge, Walker).

The only two flops I can think of were Clarke who was a cheap punt, and Rob Hulse.

Literally everyone else came in and made a contribution…

I've heard that there was huge dissent in training under Critchley.

I'm truly amazed he lasted as long as he did. The players couldn't stand him.
From whom and for what reason?

The wage bill that season was £28m, only Middlesbrough had a higher wage I believe. Norwich, who were second, had a wage bill around half of ours. Warnock took up a very well paid squad.

Well yes, but however appealing it may sound to some, "sack the lot of them" doesn't really constitute a plan.

Across the board.

Players disagreed with training methods, openly questioned the rationale for what they were doing, and found the whole thing 'really confusing' is what I've heard.

Ps, not one to defend the players, I hate this current crop, just passing on what I believe to be true.

I would imagine it must be a contingency plan at the very least for the board. These business people do tend to notice when other people are flushing their money down the carsey for years on end. It would have to be a phased plan starting at DoF level and working down till all cogs were functioning as they should. A few weeks would suffice. In truth, I'd be surprised if it happened. The reasons for not doing it are beyond me. Whatever happens at the end of the season it should be done. This lot have run out of road.

Maybe. It seems odd that someone who had been a successful youth coach at a top PL club, managed successfully at this level before and was then selected to assist in the PL would a) have such strange methodologies or b) decide now was the time to abandon what made him successful.
