Too generous. Clearly it should be on a game by game basis, measured primarily by entertainment value in interviews, and “Pashun”, demonstrated by shouting and screaming and kissing the badge a lot. Innit, bruv.Rbee wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 8:34 pmThat will appease the moaning fans then.
We need someone who would accept a three month contract. I would give the new manager seven games to turn this around. If they don't then sack them and give the fourth manager this season six games to save us from the drop..

The Profit and Sustainability Regulations only allow for a total of five managers per season. caretaker and permanent.
However a sixth manager is allowed using the concussion protocols

It's bonkers. Gone from promotion contenders to relegation contenders with no manager and the possibility of having a caretaker manager who will be stuck with a bunch of
players

Re: Critchley sacked
If I recall correctly, when NC first assumed the position, in one of his interviews, he rather inadvisedly made some comments about watching from afar as QPR imploded under MW. I'm not going to quote verbatim but it was along the lines of making a judgement on our group of players and their associated 'character'. For me he was implying that, when the going gets tough, they were found to be physically and mentally weak. Whether accurate or not, probably not the comments an incoming manager should be making and probably not well received by the players. Cue player revolt? Just maybe he had nailed down his own managerial coffin at LR before he even started?!
Question everything.

It was the presser after the Fleetwood game. He referred the players reverting to type as they had done back end of last season. Suggesting that they have mediocre standards.WA Hoop wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 1:22 amIf I recall correctly, when NC first assumed the position, in one of his interviews, he rather inadvisedly made some comments about watching from afar as QPR imploded under MW. No, I'm not making reference to that one. I'm pretty sure there was an interview (if only I could find it) right at the start of his tenure where he mentioned that he & his Blacpool team had 'formed an opinion' as to the nature of our group of players following said implosion. Maybe someone can help me out.angloraider wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 6:54 amIt was the presser after the Fleetwood game. I know what you mean WA Hoop, I think he made reference to this a couple of times in interviews. He said that the players had history of collapsing referring to last seasons slide down the table.

Glad he’s gone but who comes in is a real problem , but whoever it is can hardly be less inspiring than him , think Ainsworths dog would do better .

Re: Critchley sacked
Apart from good interviews, he is also known for getting a bunch of very average players punching above their weight and installing a winning mentality. I think it was at some club in W12.
Not a long term solution but perhaps his man mangement skills could at least get these players playing to their limited full potential to avoid the drop.
Warnock would have been the perfect fit but I can't see any ambitious, good manager taking the job now.
Next season, if we stay up, then yes but for now it's all about surviving.

"Winning mentality" ? His win ratio in his second spell was worse than Steve McLaren's.
It's sad that so many people seem unable to think beyond ex-managers and players when it comes to managerial appointments. Even sadder that the weak people running the club regularly cave in to it.

Big Sam for me should he accept. We need an instant response now. Meanwhile the super computer can be calculating who the next perfect fit is.UxbridgeR wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 12:16 pm"Winning mentality" ? His win ratio in his second spell was worse than Steve McLaren's.

I think he's still holding out for the Inter or Real Madrid jobs.

Re: Critchley sacked
Les and Hoos should follow Critchley out the door.
As for the new Manager
Jones - delusional prat so no.
Holloway - useless so no.
Ainsworth - do not want his reputation with us to be tarnished so no
Warnock would have been ideal until the end of the season but we left it too late..
Would like to see Warburton back to replace Les.
