All used to be similar clubs to QPR. They now sit in 6th, 7th, 8th position in the Premier League, all in new or recently redeveloped stadiums. The gulf now is enormous and getting wider.
They have also all embraced foreign managers. I can't recall when we last had a foreign manager.
Is our board/management simply too parochial to be successful?

I don't think it's as simple as bringing in a foreign manager.

Brighton are fortunate enough to have a very wealthy owner in Tony Bloom who is also a lifelong fan and who has been happy to pump money into the club for well over a decade now.

Brentford have Matthew Benham, another fan who is pretty wealthy, but has also used his knowledge of analytics and applied them very successfully to football.

Fulham just have very rich owners who are happy to keep throwing money at the club regardless, hence they can afford to pay Mitrovic £100k a week in the Championship.

Of course money in and of itself doesn't guarantee success, as we know all too well, but Brighton and Brentford have been very smart in how they've gone about things, and Fulham just seem to have owners who are too rich too care. I'm not sure that situation will neccessarily end well, but they're in a good place at the moment.

The threshold for allowable losses is significantly higher in the PL than the EFL (£105M over 3 years versus £39M)

Brentford and Brighton have both regularly sold players for significant amounts of money, although Brighton still make pretty substantial losses.

How Fulham get away with it is beyond me. Perhaps it's the fact that they continually bounce between the PL and the Championship, and so are never in one league long enough for the rules to be applied across a three year period.
