Beale to Wolves?

Post by angloraider » Sun Oct 16, 2022 12:55 pm

Beale currently 6-1 and 2nd fav for the Wolves job.

Personally I don't think it means much, but there is some momentum gathering. 6-1 is not particularly short, but he wasn't even in the frame until today.

The current fav is a return for Nuno at 1-3.

Worth keeping an eye on I guess.

Money doesn't talk - it swears. So said Bob Dylan, although he probably filched it from someone else. Benjamin Franklin I think.
I would hope being so new to his current job, he'd reject any such offer.

I think losing Beale would be worse than losing our best player.
I really hope that this won't happen.

Personally I don’t believe it for a moment.

Why would a Premier League club take a chance on someone who’s been a manager for 14 games ?

Remember when Liam Manning and James Rowberry were the next big managerial young things ? Life comes at you fast.
Are headphones getting bigger, or are idiots getting smaller ?

Agree with Uxy. He has barely any managerial experience and never played on the world class stage. People may come sniffing after a season minimum.

I think losing Beale is inevitable. However, I don't think it will happen yet. I'd like to think he has more integrity than that.

I also don't think he is stupid, and will see he has an opportunity to build something at QPR that he wouldn't necessarily get the chance to do at a Premiership club.

Before Beale we had about 10 different favourites at one time or another. None of the betting sites had a single clue about Beale until about a day before he got the job. They are all full of shit, so I wouldn't worry about his name popping up.

Mick has previously stated that, prior to joining QPR, he had received many opportunities to step up into the role of a 1st team manager but didn't consider any of them the right opportunity. I've no reason to believe that statement wasn't genuine. The man comes across as an intelligent, analytical, measured individual who's going to carefully consider each and every turn on his career path. I think we're pretty lucky to have Mick as a manager and I'm sure he will get to challenge himself at the highest level at some point in the future. Maybe the only real substance to this particular 'story' is his connection to the West Midlands?
Question everything.

I have a theory - the reasons he chose us was because we had the potential to be fairly close to a top 6 side and he’s backing himself to nudge us over the edge to get promotion. Then, our wealthy owners can open the coffers and build a team with him at the helm, he gets top end success all built around him. I know he mentioned we are a stepping stone in his career but maybe his next step is retooling in the Prem ready for a Champions league run. If only we were struggling as expected, none of this crazy s#it would be in my head!

Lets put this to bed then.

“There has been a bit of noise but I had a really honest face-to-face conversation with Les Ferdinand yesterday. The club’s not had contact. I’ve not had direct contact either.

I just saw the pre-match interview and Beale dodged the question when asked about all the speculation. All he had to do is say he's going nowhere this season because he has a job at QPR but he didn't. Worrying.

Unfortunately things have taken a turn for the worse, and Beale is now top choice for Wolves. This is a David Ornstein tweet, and he is rarely wrong.

Apparently Wolves have already made contact.

I can't see it, he would be crazy to leave a team after only 14/15 games wouldn't he?

When was the last time we had a manager poached? It makes a change to not be sacking a manager.
