Michael Beale appointment
I understand Michael Beale, Steven Gerrard no2, will be appointed our new manager very soon.
He had a choice of clubs who were persuing him, I guess we gave him what he wanted, hopefully budget wise in particular.
The talks have gone on all weekend, apparently it's close.

Re: Michael Beale appointment
I suppose after “Warbs” we'd have to call him “Beales”.

I don't like how it scans...but at least its 3 syllables..
Or
Miguel Bea-les blue n white army...
Beales Blue Army (discount shop - fer all yer East End clobber).
Seriously though Who the Fook is he?
Gerrard...Eish... I would cross the A40 on a trike just to smack him upside the head.. say its not so

Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

Very well respected coach has written several books on the subject. Always difficult to know how the step from coach / assistant to manager will go but I’d rather this than one of the usual ‘available’ managers that move between jobs at this level.

Re: Michael Beale appointment
I'm not really on board with this appointment. Is a bit hard to get amped up about a lad who hasn't managed a team above youth level Beale's got assistant and youth experience, but no first team. I'd much rather we'd gone with Eustace if we were gunna take a gamble.
I genuinely hope he proves me wrong.

Re: Michael Beale appointment
I guess the club have already seen enough of Eustace and there is a reason why one side doesn’t want that. I’d always assumed there was a degree of succession planning and he was next in line but clearly not.

Re: Michael Beale appointment
He does talk a very good game, only a year younger than Steve Cooper who has worked a
miracle at Forest (they were bottom remember).
Since we can't get a Ancelotti or Guardiola in I'd then as you say get somebody like this
on board instead of the usual journeymen managers out there.

What. Can’t believe they didn’t give the job to Sol Campbell

I really like this for us. Someone who understands tactics and coaching. Let’s just give him time to do well.
Let’s hope he can get a few good young players in on loan or develop any decent young talent at LR.

Re: Michael Beale appointment
I read in an interview that he’s very focused on improving players individually as a route to team success. How that will pan out at this level will remain to be seen but fingers crossed it works and you can see why that would appeal to the current hierarchy.
I think each of the last 2 managers have left us in a better place than when they came In hopefully this continues with Beale. The club are obviously gambling on have picked up a managerial star in the making like Cooper as Andy mentioned and I think it’s hard to fault their logic.
I’ve seen some criticism that he and Gerrard never had a plan b which I think nearly every team’s fans complain about and is usually a byword for “they didn’t stick on another striker when we went a goal down like we all thought they should have”

I hope he signs his contract today before watching his number one striker play tonight.

I don't know who this is? There's a lot of number 2's out there but it Sounds like he's been doing Stevie's job for him.
