A lurker and very infrequent poster but supporter of the Rs since 1968 this board has been a chunk of my life for 20 years, since the era of Macmoish! and Matt Doran and Chappers and Tracey and I will desperately miss it.
The posters are genuinely informed and very witty.
Thanks Drew for all the efforts you have put in and best wishes for the future.

Drew, really sad to see the board go. Posted on here as the Twin Towers came down
in New York where I was at the time.

I too remember Matt Doran and Chappers for different reasons.
Take care and thanks a heap for this forum, it will be missed.

I'm sorry to hear this news and grateful to DG particularly, but also to all the posters over the years who have amused, advised, informed and enraged.

Drew - Sorry to see this go. What are the costs of hositing this baord? Does it take up much time? I am not Techy minded but could someone take off your hands to keep going or would you rather just close it off?

...add to the costs the time the admin has to dedicate to its maintenance....plus checking the posts and the posters....
it is a tough job and that's why I thanked Drew so much in my previous post

I feel very emotional reading this and was unaware until just now that this was the case firstly please accept my best wishes for your recovery from your medical condition. Secondly thank you so much for hosting this and I suppose took the hosting for granted over the years apart from the odd contribution.

I will particularly miss the network of people on here who I felt I knew but in the most I have never actually met, when I think about all the years and all the laughs and rows I have had on this website in this form and the previous form it makes me sad To think that it’s now all over. I somehow wish that we could keep this network linked together somehow perhaps if we could get an email mailing list or Facebook group together uniquely from .org at least there would be some connection remaining from this board if anyone feels this is benefit please email me at mkcsmartin@yahoo.com

Once again. Thanks Drew and all. You’ve been wise and so much fun.

Best

Martin

Sad news indeed, but hats off for running the site for so long -it must be quite some job.

I'd like to thank you Drew . The site is a must for ex-pat R's like me and has given me some semblance of being part of the R's from afar. I never posted much but I read it every day to for all things R's.

Good luck
Thanks again

DG - thanks so much for keeping this going for so long! This was my first fans forum over 20 years ago now and one I enjoyed spending lots of time on.

Wishing you all the best in the future.
