Can’t see this ever happening but a fun little distraction on what should be match day.

Steve Cook sounds like he’s close to signing. What does that mean for our current centre backs? Is this a Dickie replacement?

If we aspire to be in the mix, we need a bigger squad.

Warburton likes 3 at the back, and we’re so short there with JDW’s constant injury problems - so would hope he’s not coming in as a replacement for anyone.

Don’t want to lose Dickie, but he’s nowhere near the level he was at a few months back.

He probably needs a rest. Apart from being subbed in the 88th minute against Oxford ... he's played every minute of this season so far.

On a very wet pitch, could be useful if Osman Kayak was also in the team.
It's simple. Score more goals than they do.

Reports emanating from Bristol that we're in advanced talks to sign ex-Chelsea graduate and current City player Kasey Palmer

I don't rate Palmer at all; I think we bought him off Chelsea as a sweetener for another deal (?Thomas Kalas) as he never made any sense.

I would be absolutely delighted to see him leave City and would drive the car myself but I really don't want QPR ending up stuck with him even on a free.

I can't link to the thread on the OTIB transfer forum as you have to be signed in to read it but here are the comments about him and his playing style:

I am guessing we will still be paying a large amount of his wages but regardless if we can get him gone permanently it’s a plus. I assume QPR won’t have a lot of money and with the injuries they have plus players going to AFCON it’s probably worth the risk but I will be very surprised if he’s a success there.

Perfect fit for QPR and the reason a warburton team will never get promoted . Play lovely football but way too open. We should of put 4 past them first half & palmer won’t make them any tighter at the back.
Even if we don’t get a striker in it’s still £20+k a week off the wage bill even if we only get £500k for him I’d be happy.
QPR are my second team - not many Bristol City fans can say that!

Johansen had three weeks off playing in December!

In what position did Palmer play for BC?

Attacking midfielder or support man behind the striker.

Having watched some clips on him, there's not a lot of content that fills me with any excitement. I'm guessing he'll be a backup for Chair, but then you'd have to question why we wouldn't use Thomas instead.

Ah, so you were, but he had three weeks off too.
