Lyndon Dykes

Mamma Mia!

The all-round commitment from this guy is unbelievable. That header on the floor leading to the goal was superb. I would like to see if he was offside for his headed goal or not, I love a good headed goal, the technique when the ball was behind him to direct that into the goal was incredible.

For the first goal the Preston player was on the floor with his legs blocking the route to goal. Dykes just delayed the shot a split second and as soon as the defender moved his leg and left a gap he toe poked it home. Any sooner and the shot would have been blocked. I thought it was really clever and timed to perfection.

For the third goal he was just flipping awesome.

Agree with all that. Can we now accept that he is a vital part of the team

Dykes is developing excellently. I watched him closely today and his movement was great, peeling away from the big Preston centre backs and occasionally dropping back to pick up the ball when required. It wasn't so long ago that people were saying his positional sense was hopeless. He played the role brilliantly today.
Come on you Sooopa ........

What was especially pleasing was that he got a second wind when Charlie came on. Really stepped up the work rate in the last 20 and, if you haven’t seen his role in the third, then check it out! It’s a lesson for all young forward players. Doesn’t foul the player, then gets on the turf and nods it into Charlie’s path. Then somehow he’s back on his feet laying it off to Chair to score.

I really think Charlie's experience has helped Lyndon. He was a shadow of the player he is until Charlie came in.

Can't really tell from the highlights but although his hands were in the air to indicate no foul I think he might have used his body to knock the Preston player off balance. Clever :D

Not to have given it meant the referee was 100% certain it was not a foul as these are always given.

The defender was pulling at Lyndons shirt the whole time. A fouls against him would have been a travesty.

Looked very lively for Scotland last night. Missed a penalty but went on to score the equaliser. Could of had 3 on the night, first chance was a lovely take on his chest bringing it down facing up his defenders and getting the shot away. Encouraging to see.

Spot on John, I don't know what some people expect tbh. This signing is coming along nicely, and if he continues his improvement, we have a little gem on our hands. Yes his game needs some improvements in certain area's, but I'm fairly sure he's working on them.
