Barbet

Post by karateelvis » Wed Sep 29, 2021 1:42 pm

A certain Rob Dickie has rightly been getting a lot of praise this season and even though our defence had become somewhat leaky in recent weeks (that clean sheet last night was very welcome), I think Yoann Barbet has become a steady presence in our back 5 (or 4). He's shown real versatility and puts in a consistent 7/10 performance every week (at least), I think he's been a very good signing and doesn't really get the praise he deserves (in my opinion).

Agreed. He's become an important part of the team and a very consistent performer. 71 consecutive league appearances is pretty good going in this day and age too.

Isn't he out of contract at the end of this season ?

Yes, he's in the last year of his contract and no club option of a further year. I'd be surprised if he wasn't offered a new contract.

I dunno, he's a bit of a lazy sod. No, seriously this chap is very important to us and hasn't missed a single minute of a game for, well, anyone know how long ?

The last time he didn't finish a game was ... 28 September 2019. He was sent off in the 82nd minute against WBA at home (It was live on SKY)
Saturday 9th November 1968: QPR V Burnley in the First Division - I saw the Hoops for the first time and my obsession began!
