Honestly, we're on the verge of signing a guy who won the Premier League last season and some of you are still not satisfied

The vultures circling around Dickie I read (Newcastle being one of them), I'm sure we can
hang on to him for another season at least.

By the way are we retaining Hämäläinen, is there a player there that can be improved
and is there still pruning to do on the squad?

Hamalainen signed a four year contract last October, so it’s unlikely he’s going anywhere any time soon.

I do feel that one from Dykes, Chair or Dickie will leave. We need the cash injection I suspect. Most likely Chair I think.

All gut feel of course, no substance to it.

Charlton Athletic and Sunderland are among the clubs linked with a move for Todd Kane this summer with the right-sided defender falling out of favour towards the end of the campaign for a couple of reasons on and off of the field.

Well! West Bromwich Albion have released Charlie Austin and goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.

19 other players have been released including Hal Robson-Kanu

Excellent news. Now if we can just afford his wages.

Anyone else from their released list we could look at?
Kamil Grosicki, Branislav Ivanović, Lee Peltier as backups?

No transfer fee helps.

It now makes total sense to sign him. Buying a new player for 2 mill on lower wages and getting a free player on higher wages is the same - apart from the fact we couldn’t sell Charlie on of course.

Let’s do it !

It's just a shame Furlong isn't among those WBA is letting go. Wouldn't he be perfect for us right now?

It's the same for our bank balance but it wont be the same for the other players who have been restricted by our very sensible wage structure. I don't care how good they are, we must stick with this. The best way for this to happen is to keep his wages modest with a decent signing on fee IMHO.

So other players would object to Austin getting a higher wage over a two year contract but would be happy for him to be paid within the wage structure but receive a large signing on fee. Swings and roundabouts.
