Linked with Tommy Doyle on season long loan. 19yo Mid from Man City (he's played for them 7times).

I'm not sure about that one. The last central midfield prodigy that we took on loan from Citeh didn't light up the world. LTC was a passenger in the role for us during his first stint too. I prefer a more experienced head in there.

Nothing against Man City youngsters, but I agree. We have young players in that area, but not much experience. Most experienced I think is Dom Ball. In terms of manpower we have Amos, Ball, Field, Dozzel and Bettache (not counting more attack-minded players), so numbers-wise, I think we are OK.

Amos won't be fit enough to play for some time I think. Bettache has been earmarked for a loan spell away from the club. I think that Dozzel will likely be phased in towards the first team. We're obviously holding out for SJ signing and I think talking to Man City about Doyle is a good precautionary measure. He's very highly rated - has already played a number of times for them.

You just have to look at the players who play in that position and they are more experienced. I know young players have got to start somewhere but I can't think of any team that has a teenager in the anchor central midfield role winning the ball and recycling it. Billy Gilmour is the only one I can think of.

Dominic Ball? I'm just saying we're a bit light on numbers.

Linked with Kai Garande. 18yo Winger from Charlton. Very highly rated by all accounts, likely he'll be one for the future.

Exactly. Even if we are light on numbers, I don't think Doyle is a credible back-up for SJ. If we can't bring Johansen in, I expect we will sign or loan in an experienced hand.

West London Sport

QPR are close to finalising a deal to sign Stefan Johansen from Fulham. Johansen, 30, joined Fulham from Celtic in 2016. He has a year remaining on his contract at Craven Cottage.

The two clubs have been in negotiations for several weeks but the deal was held up by the change of manager at Fulham, where Marco Silva recently replaced Scott Parker.

Rangers are set to pay around £600,000 for the Norwegian midfielder, who was outstanding while on loan with them during the second half of last season.

:-D woohoo drunkagain edance :-D

It is true, Danish. Dave Mc is almost never wrong on these matters.

£600k! It's an absolute steal. He's worth 4 or 5 times that.

Players worth greatly reduces in the last year of their contracts as we have learnt to our cost. We appear to be gaining from it this time
