So far so good
So, if Dykes is the preferred starting option, we only have Kelman, Bonne or one of the youngsters (from the youth team) as cover up front. Surely we will be looking at an experienced striker to share the load.
As it stands, our starting 11 looks something like this:
Dieng
Paal
Dickie/ Clarke-Salter
Dunne
Albert/ Odubajo
Amos
Johansen/ Dozzell
Field
Willock
Dykes
Chair
We seem to lack strength in depth, and as already mentioned are light up top.
I hope in the coming weeks we beef this up a bit. Personally, I'd have given Andre Gray a contract (I think he may still be available).

Re: So far so good
I am sure that the club are looking to make new signings all over the pitch so let's see what happens over the next few weeks.
The loan market really kicks in after the Premier League clubs announce their squads and we are favourites to get a couple of young Villa lads on loan.
Agree about Gray who, like all our strikers, didn't get enough starts under Mark Warburton when fit, too much chopping and changing. I guess it all comes down to his salary and length of contract.

Our finances would surely suggest that we'll need to sell at least one of our better players over the summer if we're to stay within FFP limits and give the new manager some funds to work with in the transfer market.

Does Jordy de Wijs count as one of our better players? He's left for a fee to Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Sadly no. I don't think Beale will be doing much wheeling and dealing with the proceeds of that move.

LJD is a good battering ram but not really a very mobile or prolific striker. He needs someone good next to him to prosper.

I note the Seb Polter has signed for Schalcke 04, who gained promotion back to the Bundesliga
He will play in front of 60.000 every second week. A good move for him
