Surely?

The first thing that must happen with next season's shirt nos. is the no 10 shirt is removed from Betty. He is not and never will be a QPR no. 10.

Sorry, it's been been a long day and I needed a 'cat' to kick.

All this chat about shirt numbers and Adel is irrelevant.

For the past few close seasons Adel has been leaving but ends up staying.
Reports now suggest that he wants to stay so it follows that he will be off in the next few weeks.

Maybe we could instigate a number that has a 1/2 (or .5) as part of it?

I always think "old school" regarding football numbers...

2-3 RB LB

5 Stopper 6 Cultured CB

4 Defensive Midfielder

7-8 Midfield Generals

9 Centre Forward

10 Striker

11 Winger

So what number is the player just in front of the defence, and the one in the whole behind the striker(s)?

I think your nostalgia for corresponding shirt numbers is about as quaint as 'wing-backs' and 'centre halfs'

Nah, 4 and 8 were midfield generals, 7 and 11 wingers, 9 centre forward with 10 playing just behind him. I blame Dave Sexton, he broke the rules with the '76 side!
