The murdering criminals are at it again , attacking a humanitarian aid convoy killing at least 19 civilians.

They stoop to new levels of depravity by the day and are now friendless around the world.

Where is NY Stan? what you got to say about this one Stan?

I guess you probably believe what the lying IDF spokesmen have been spouting on the BBC all afternoon... ' they were hamas terrorists , they attacked us first ' blah blah blah

If you are not angered by this inhumane act then you are not human.

I will be at the Israeli embassy from 4pm in protest because our country cannot and must not support this madness any longer.

Enjoy your protest. I'm glad you can be arsed to get up and make a statement. So many people are happy to sit back and moan about not being able to do anything about anything these days. I regret having to miss a lot of the take back parliament demos because of my new job (which I wouldn't give up for anything right now) and were I around I'd go along to this one too. The Israelis have been taking the piss unchecked for far too long.

Interesting that Turkey has already come up on this board this week.

My initial reaction that (seemingly) attacking any peaceful convoy is wrong but in International waters is just taking the pi** is slightly tempered by the news that the majority of people in the convoy were Turkish nationals, Turkey being one of the very few countries with a high Muslim population that still has contact with Israel (though it is less friendly than it was).

Whatever is happening in Gaza, there is also a world-wide propaganda war being fought and while the Palestinians appear to have some clever operators on their side, the Israelis (and their allies?) answer to all and every problem is a big hammer and a pained/not guilty expression.

I think I will continue to not believe anything that I read or hear about this particular conflict and maybe I'll live long enough for some real truths to come out.

Dave its irrelevant what nationality the aid workers were , there are people from all over the world on this convoy.

It could have been Brits Swedes Americans whatever it happened to be Turks maybe that was a calculated decision by the Israelis maybe it was random who knows.

A Turkish life is the same as any other life , it is sacred and should not be taken away.

Yes relations between Israel and Turkey have been deteriorating rapidly of late and it would appear the PM Erdogan is one of a handful of international politicians who is not afraid to stand up to Israel and condemn them on a regular basis unlike many of our silent politicians.

What people don't seem to understand is that Israel is a mad dog and will not only turn on the Arab world but when the time comes they will not think twice to attacking any European state they deem an enemy.

It will be interesting to see the Erdogan response to this, he has cut short a trip to Latin America to return home , lets hope things don't escalate into a regional conflict.

It's not at all irrelevant, the majority were Turks and I'd suggest you need to look at things a lot more deeply (and maybe think about why that was so) than you seem to now. What is happening in the World is very rarely what you see on the news. Though maybe that suits you.

As for your "mad dog" idea you forget that people keep mad dogs for a purpose and when that purpose no longer exists (or a better choice occurs) or the dog goes too mad, they are put down by their owners.

You're right, Dave. Things never are quite as the news reports. Even the BBC is a manipulated media. However, what we have here is not an isolated incident but yet another in a long line of brutal acts by Israel. Put in the context of the last few decades, and particularly the last 18 months in terms of how Israel have treated Gaza, it is not difficult to put two and two together is it? This latest act is entirely consitent with Israel's past record of oppression and injustice against the Palestinians.

If any other state did something like this we'd see a huge international outcry with all and sundry, including the USA, condemning the act out of hand. All that will happen to Israel will be half-hearted statements and in a couple of weeks it will be swept under the carpet - and Israel's murderous treatment of Palestinians will continue.

Sometimes you have to take sides, Dave. Good on W13hoop for doing so this afternoon.

Whilst I have huge concerns about this incident I don't think the inflammatory language used in the thread title is helpful. Anyway, over to Stan to defend Israel again.

Here's the question I asked myself. Did the organisers of this convoy really expect Israel to let it through their blockade not knowing what might be on board? Course they didn't. They knew what would happen. They believe sacrificing lives will turn world opinion against Israel. Problem is, opinion is already against Israel. This will change nothing. And no, I'm not Jewish.

Why does Stan need to defend them?

I think you will find they are "capable" of doing that themselves... even if it is an atrocity in the eyes of the world...

The Israeli mindset is either "hawk" or "dove"....

The "hawks" are winning at the moment.... The "doves" are currently split and powerless while Hamas are in control of Gaza...

Shockingly, Sky News seem to be spinning it as a PR cockup for Israel, suggesting that they should have just planned the attack better. Getting more and more like Fox News every day.
