Bristol City away

Post by White Duck » Mon Feb 11, 2019 9:57 am

Very tough game tomorrow night: think they've one eight in a row and we haven't :?

Obviously bring back Leistner (for Lynch IMO) but do we stick with the same formation that led us to being 4 goals behind on Saturday? Is Smith fit enough to play another 90 minutes? Perhaps Eze back and play with just one up front. I'd bring Pav back in for BOS (who looks better off the bench IMO). Cousins for Scowen as well.

We need to stop the losing streak in the league but also need to think ahead to the Watford cup game just 3 days later.

Tough decisions for SMc.

Thanks to TV....

SMc has the unenviable job of trying to eke a point at least away tomorrow (safety is most important IMO) and progress further in the FA Cup on Friday.... Picks a weakened team for either and he'll be lambasted by the fans...

We could lose both thanks to them and scheduling for the TV armchair fans
2019/2020.... Keep Calm, no matter the season, we'll follow our team.....

As you say SMC has a very tough job on his hands this week. Realistically, I think we can only win one of the games. In terms of team selection I think his starting point has got to be to a team which will be consistent, strong and mobile in the first thirty minutes. For that reason I'd be inclined to keep faith in the Leistner/Lynch combination, retain Scowen in the CDM role and rest Smith (although he was our best player on Saturday).

My starting team would be;

Lumley
furlong
bidwell
scowen
Leistner
lynch
wzsolek
Luongo
freeman
BOS or eze
wells
Come on you Sooopa ........

I'd go:

Lumley
Furlong
Leistner
Hall
Bidwell
Wszolek
Luongo
Scowen
Freeman
Eze
Wells

Bench: Hemed BOS Cousins Lynch Ingram Manning Smith

I'd go with the following:-

Lumley
Furlong
Leistner
Hall
Bidwell
Cousins
Luongo
Freeman
Wszolek
Smith
Wells

Ingram, lynch, Scowen, Manning, BOS, Eze, Hemed

Same formation that started Saturday but a lot more strength defensively with BFG back and Pav giving more defensive cover than BOS. Cousins deserves a go based on his last performance and certainly Smith deserves to keep his place up front.

REST Smith for the Bristol game ( ye dinnae drop a man like Matt Smith ), and start him against Watford. Play Cousins in both matches. Pav in for BOS. We'll win 'em both !
