Greatest QPR Loans...

Post by Stateside Ranger » Thu Aug 09, 2018 7:25 pm

Top 5 loans ever? (Loans from Panama don’t count). Starter for 10:

1. Buzsáky
2. Taarabt
3. Kyle Walker
4. Taiwo
5. Jimmy Smith (honourable mention given he scored a brace/hat trick (?) on his debut).

Here’s hoping we get some more in like this lot. I now remember how awesome Walker was for us, an absolute machine even when he was starting out on loan with us...

As well as Jimmy Smith, his namesake Tommy Smith was pretty decent for us.

Wasn't Mark Kennedy a loan too?

Paul Furlong. Must be the best possible loan move for the R's - Twice on loan before signing permanently. Scored vital goals for the R's and his legacy lives on at the club in his work as an academy coach and also now his own kid, Darnell is first choice right back when fit.

On hols in France this week, reading in the press that Taarabt ( still only 29) was trying to get a move to Nantes, fell through on contract terms. Now looking at a move to Amiens, who though in top league are a really small team

I don't think Buzsáky was ever a loan, was he?

He was indeed - from Plymouth prior to the permanent signing

Great shout! He was very keen to join us permanently too. You could add Martin Cranie to that list before he picked up his awful injury.

Vargas and Isla were fun to watch.

Andrew Davies.

Could do with finding another young central defender who performed as well as he did for us in the next few weeks.
