Ellerslie Road flag

Post by dm » Tue Jul 10, 2018 3:46 pm

There's been an email from the club to Ellerslie Road ST holders asking them if they've any objections to a giant flag passing along the crowd as the team runs out. The email shows an artist's of the flag but some are unhappy with the design. I don't sit in ER so haven't seen this so if anyone can post it on here it I'd be really interested in seeing it.

here you go then (possibly)
QPRFlag.JPG

One of our supporters' groups, QPR Pride of London, contacted the club earlier this summer with the idea of displaying a giant supporters banner (10 metres x 10 metres) and passing it along the Ellerslie Road stand before kick-off. The thinking behind this is to improve the pre-match atmosphere, and display the fans are united behind the team as the players take to the pitch accompanied by the famous sound of PigBag.

As a season ticket holder in the Ellerslie Road Stand we wanted to get in touch with you to let you know about the proposed activity and to establish if you would have any objection to it?

Please see the image above for an artists impression of what the flag might look like.

If you have any comments or any further questions, please get in touch with us by emailing marketing@qpr.co.uk.

Many thanks for posting that, bigbobb.

I can see why some weren't happy with the design. It doesn't reflect the club at all. A fist against a star? What's that all about?

I've no problem with the idea, and as I don't sit in ER it wouldn't affect me. But I wouldn't like that image on the flag. The club crest or We are QPR, or even Come on You Rs, but not that.

Can see it now on my desktop. Looks like the banner of the Tooting Peoples Liberation Movement.

Could the money on a giant flag not be better spent elsewhere.

I assume it comes out of the Supporters' Groups funds. Personally, I'm against it. We should stick to our own ways and means and not copy other clubs. IMHO.
