Yeah but we pronounce it like Ravel don't we? Or is it more like Powell?
I still say Nike like a bike when it's officially Nike like pikey.

Well if you want to be pedantic and it appears you do, his name isn't Pawel, it's Paweł. Generally, in Polish the 'w' is pronounced as a 'v' would be in English and the 'ł' is closer to an English 'w'.

I think it's more like Pavaww (imagine the final part to be similar to the noise an Australian spinner might make after short leg has failed to hold onto a catch after a carefully laid plan)
and i think the Surname is along the lines of Zjowek but i'm probably well off.

I’m married to one of ‘em so you’re about as close to it as we’re likely to get in English. His surname is more like v-show-wek with a soft v....Satch wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2017 6:48 pmI think it's more like Pavaww (imagine the final part to be similar to the noise an Australian spinner might make after short leg has failed to hold onto a catch after a carefully laid plan)

Nice one, i thought the V might be silent. It must boil your other half's piss to hear his name being mangled on commentary. Fernandes does a pretty good job of getting it right.Northolt_Rs wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 10:59 pmI’m married to one of ‘em so you’re about as close to it as we’re likely to get in English. No she couldn’t give a sh.it tbh. She has much bigger concerns - like being married to me for starters!
