I promised to leave you alone and I did.

Congratulations on your survival.

I'll wish you well for the future as soon as you sack Joey Barton (or refuse to register him in the 25).

I can't help but despise any team with that player in it. You are too good for Barton, some of you need to understand how he damages your reputation.

A nice little family club like Charlton you lot, Barton is a Millwall or Glasgow Rangers player, pure and simple.

Time for you lot to demand that he is disowned.

Cheers LeJuge, well done on a great season for Norwich. I look forward to hopefully getting more out of your lot next year than we did this season!

Sure, I am, I got it wrong (just). I was convinced that you would go down.

Unfortunately I have got it spot on with Barton.

I doubt anybody could find anything to hate about QPR when he is gone.

Decent player (although not half as good as he thinks he is), but there is nothing lovable about that rogue. He is no Robbie Savage, nothing to love about hating that man.

Thanks, 12th in the Premier League is an awesome achievement for us lot.

We expect to have things a bit harder next year, whether we have Lambert or not.

Which begs the question, as to whether he thinks he can take us any further or not.

It will all boil down to whether or not he is backed.

We have a conundrum really, there has to be a point where we extend the stadium if we are hoping to become an Everton or a Villa (self-sustaining bigger clubs).

But if we don't back Lambert with serious money he will be gone.

Either way, a second year in the Premier League is pretty much clearing our debts.

When your club was a month away from administration after relegation to the third tier, sometimes we have to look at the bigger picture.

Lambert will be loved if he leaves and loved if he stays, just so long as he leaves early if that's his intention.

Lambert's the bookies favourite for the Villa job. I'm pretty sure I predicted this a few months ago. Wink

Who knows.

The general consensus among Norwich fans is that he would be selling himself short.

If he can do it all again next year with Norwich, and not throw games in both of the cups, he could potentially be 12 months away from a much better job.

If he has the 'leave while my stock is high' mentality then just let him leave, but we don't think Lambert thinks like that.

He will want to go to a team with a realistic chance of European football..... Villa would need £30m to get there.... are they willing to invest that? I mean, they are dire right now.

Villa are where they are because they have sold their players and not reinvested into their team. They looked awful for most of the game yesterday.

If Lambert thinks he could take the most talented Norwich boys with him then he may be in for a surprise.

McNally isn't going to sell anybody cheap, he is a man with as much ambition as Lambert.

He isn't going to get Bennett, Pilkington, Howson, and Holt for the amount that we paid for them.... put it that way. I can't see Pilkington going for any less than £10m.

Your talking about a team who still play Heskey up front.

He has played mind-games and been vague about his future since the day that he arrived.

Personally I think he was vague in that press conference for the following reasons:

1) he wants a better deal

2) he wants to be backed in the transfer market

Of course he isn't going to commit until he sees what is put on the table. He has been on a rolling contract since the day that he arrived.

He could leave tomorrow if he wanted, no contract.

Maybe it is time for us to put the big deal in front of him... and he isn't going to sign that unless we throw another £15m at the squad this year.

Which we should be doing, so good on him.

Nobody can say that he hasn't been backed this year though, he has spent a good £15m - £20m on the team this year.

If the club can get him Naughton on a permanent, and we sign another couple of Howson's, then I reckon he will stay.

Howson looks ace by the way. I think he wants Snodgrass. If he does want Snodgrass then we need to get Snodgrass for him, simple as really.

Lambert was also favorite to get the Burnley job whilst we were 2nd in the Championship.

We were also 5/4 favourites to sign Jordan Rhodes before it turned out that we had never even got him around a table.

Pretty sure you know how the bookies work by now mate, everybody backs the favorite Wink

I'll believe it when I see it..... my bigger worry would be who we got as a replacement.

Pre-McNally our decline was the result as a succession of awful managerial appointments, including two with no experience whatsoever.

I'd like to think that McNally knows what he is doing.... he appointed Hodgson at Fulham and O'Neill at Celtic, and Lambert at Norwich.

Can't argue with that record.

I sense a bit of concern, LeJuge. I guess only time will tell whether Lambert can resist the allure of Aston Villa. Wink

Of course there is concern. I've been concerned about Lambert leaving ever since he took over, he's a fantastic manager.

But as our chief exec has said today, when you have a fantastic season you can expect speculation about your players and manager.

But like I said, my concern has a lot more to do with who it would be that would we end up with as manager rather than the idea of Lambert leaving in general.

There is a Villa fan on one of our Norwich boards right now, informing us that Villa are going to be appointing a Director of Football.

If that is true then that is fantastic news for us. There is no way that Lambert would work under a director of football, he likes complete control.

Might not be true of course, but if it is true, and they are going to get a 'Director of Football', then I'd say that betting on Lambert to take the job would be a poor decision.

Especially if they appoint one BEFORE approaching managers. Perhaps he would consider that if he got to choose his own man (like Wenger did, he chose his own).

Of course, there may be more vacancies appear in the coming weeks, so the worry doesn't stop with Villa.

I'd be literally pooing myself if Dalglish parted ways with Liverpool. We aren't going to be able to stop him from going there.
