Our Saviour? The majority of fans haven't seen him kick a ball. He might not even start against Fulham, which would be fine, no need to rush the bloke.
If he does come good, then excellent. If not be patient and allow him to adjust/ learn about the English game rather than burn effigies of him outside the ground and quotes of sarcastic middle aged men chortling "I'll drive him back there myself, nowhere near fit enough" before tucking into a Pukka Pie. |

Lukey, Lukey, Lukey ... there's no need for that sort of sensible talk. There are children around. Remember, this chap must the new Pele or sub-Caesarean crap. There is no middle ground. _________________ I'm Ray Gardner. I drink Blackcurrant Tango. Come and get me! |

Saviour may be a bit strong but as a fan you hope that the new signing will be the bees knees as opposed to Don's SBC.
Not sure we have seen this type of strong midfield player signed, and I hope he does give us something different.
Key factor could be the two week break and trip to Portugal though. |

I've always thought there should be a 'clutching at straws' emoticon. And if someone could come up with a 'his sort always end up at Palace' avitar for me, that would be pure genius! _________________ "I have always thought in the back of my mind cheese and onions". |

Looking forward to the 'Diakité isn't good enough for this league' threads on Sunday. _________________ 'Live every week like it is shark week' |

I have every confidence that the time together since his arrival and adaption to the R's way of playing will be eminently manifest tomorrow. Other than a tendency to rashness I liked the look of him. _________________ It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope. |

Yeah good point.
I'm quietly optimistic though. _________________ 'Live every week like it is shark week' |

My point was a positive one! I have been reading the comments by most of the players commenting about his touch and ability, and I have it on good authority that he will start, and that he is expected to be something a bit special!
He was wanted by Lyon, was a big player for Mali, is very athletic, got pace, has a presence and is very very highly thought of by numerous football scouts on the continent?
I'm not bigging him up, it's just if, and it is an if, he is the rock of a holding midfielder that we so desperately need, then he really could be the missing link. We really need a boost, and I've seen it too many times this season how quickly our attacks, corners, and general forward play ends up with the ball back in our own net! Our defence haven't had the cover it's needed generally this season.
So again, I'm willing this to be the missing piece in the jigsaw!
C'mon u R's! _________________

Sirlench, I hope that I can speak for the rest of the posters on this particular thread in saying that the comments were intended in humour/positive banter and nothing else.
You have to admit that there are a few posters who are on the case of a player fairly quickly on here if the perception is that the player isnot what they anticipated.
I hope what you say is spot on - a player of this type could make all the difference to us in the premiership and I think that it would help the games of some of the other players as well. |
