Only just caught up with this terribly sad news.

Not much I can really add to the previous comments, a genuinely good bloke, who I only had the pleasure of meeting on a few occasions in person, including that damn quiz night, but a very much missed friend in the dotorg world. Someone who talked a lot of sense.

My deepest condolences to his family.

Really sad to hear the news. 7 pages tell you all you need to know about him.

He's paid for his season ticket and his nameplate is on the seat, it would seem odd to have it taken off and someone else sit there... I don't want to deny other supporters a seat but it might be a fitting tribute for those who sat near him and knew him?

It's easy to get mawkish but this guy supported the R's for over half a century and was a season ticket holder for much of that time.
I guess the seat is technically part of his estate so it's up to the family. But if anything were to eb done, I'd like to see the club resell it and put the money into a youth or community rogramme. I think he'd have liked that.

Thank you Ali, I am sure the Big Man would have been humbled by all of this.

I am not sure he was a flowers type of a guy (well of the flora kind, not the ale of course) but if you know of any favourite charity of his, perhaps you could let us know so that I could donate something to that cause.

What horrible news. One of the posters I always looked out for, and his comments were always spot on.

May he rest in peace.

Good point Don, an excellent suggestion. It would be nice if the club were to do something.

Very sad, a person who made this tiny corner of the world a better place.

Rest in peace.

It is amazing, and a testament to the fella, that so many of us who knew him only on this board have been moved by his passing.
