Stefan Johansen
Being Norwegian I guess I’m entitled to be biased, but: Stefan Johansen is slowly turning out to be the loan deal of the season. He huffs and puffs our midfield in a way that has been sorely missing in that department for a while. His corner kicks always comes into danger areas. He seems to be in total control both defensively and when going forward.
We have to sign him permanently.

Re: Stefan Johansen
I only managed to watch the last 10 minutes so can't comment on his performance but what did stand out to me was seeing him sprint as fast as he could chasing after a ball. I thought to myself "I'm sure I saw that he started the game, I must have imagined it because there's no way someone had that energy and commitment that late on".
He's got a year left on his contract right? How much could we get him for and would Fulham even sell if they get relegated?

Re: Stefan Johansen
I believe his salary is close to 40k a week which might prove hard to match. Think our highest earner is around the 13k mark.

West London Sport saying he has indicated that he would be happy to stay with us. Obviously wages are a huge issue but it would be quite something if we could sign him.

Re: Stefan Johansen
He'd be a great signing, but I wonder if Fulham would want him back if they're relegated. He played a few games for them in this league last year

Fulham just won at Anfield. So, fingers crossed that will help.

Yep, I can't see any way we could hope to get Johansen or Austin in permanently, given what they earn currently. Our best hope would be that Fulham stay up, and we get him on loan for another year and just pay part of his wages. He might prefer to stay in London, as it would be less upheaval for him and his family. At his age and with the form he's shown in the last couple of months, CA can probably get one more contract on good money from one of the bigger Championship clubs in the summer.

Re: Stefan Johansen
Wonder if we are looking at cheaper alternatives - linked with Alex Mowatt at Barnsley not long ago and also now linked with Andre Dozzell at Ipswich - both out of contract in the summer.

I've wondered if he has a sister called Scarlet.

Re: Stefan Johansen
This seems very high, considering he was signed in the Championship and extended in the Championship, and didn't secure a place in the Premier League side after either promotion.

Re: Stefan Johansen
Doesn't promotion to the Premier League effectively mean a guaranteed pay increase though ?
I've no idea whether or not he's on 40k, but whatever it is, I'd be pretty sure it's way beyond our wage structure.

Re: Stefan Johansen
It's further evidence, if evidence were needed, of the gulf between divisions. Johanson and Austin can't get games for their parent clubs but have transformed our team.
