Surely "they" indicates it is possessive of the word rows in the post and "that" is superfluous? He was a very close friend of Julie and helped her on many occasions throughout their friendship. A little like DeepSeaHoop; argumentative on the forums but a really nice guy IRL.WA Hoop wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 12:04 amVery sad news indeed.
Dave was a most erudite dot.orger, his posts could be very much of a 'straight between the eyes' nature and his commitment to the apostrophe police was unwavering.
Like many, I didn't always agree with Dave but had the utmost respect for him and I was extremely grateful when he took the trouble to converse with me on personal level regarding an issue with which we were both mutually affected.
RIP DaveF

I actually noticed that he'd made a mistake with an abberant apostrophe once but I didn't have the bottle to point it out to him !Esox Lucius wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 11:25 amSurely "they" indicates it is possessive of the word rows in the post and "that" is superfluous? Tempted as I am to argue about the noun clause for a week or two in tribute to Davef, I'll concede.Esox Lucius wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 11:25 amSurely "they" indicates it is possessive of the word rows in the post and "that" is superfluous? Old school Dot.orger.
Humorous. Intelligent. Liked to wind a few people up and mix it up a bit which always proved to be quite compelling reading on this message board. Especially active between 2008-2012.
Ultimately though he was a diehard R’s fan and therefore by definition he was one of our own.
Rest in Peace Dave.
Always enjoyed his posts.
RIP Davef

Re: Dave Frodsham
Just in case there is some confusion, Julie is a long standing and close friend of Dave and not his wife whose name is Lynne.

Very sad news. Dave was one of the best posters on this board. Made me laugh more than anyone on here. Kept us all on our toes with our spelling and grammar, too.

Deepest sympathies to Dave Frodsham's family.
I lurk more than post these days but wanted to come on for this. Like most, I never met DaveF and just saw him through the prism of this board as a stickler for punctuation and a man with a punchy opinion. He did take people on but he argued well for the most part and did know his stuff. Sometimes he did go overboard, although not with me.
We forget that we all are, for the most part, 'normal folk' who share a passion for the blue and white. I'm very sorry that he has passed on.
My support for QPR is about meeting up with my friends at the game but also laughing/sparring/disagreeing with all you lot on here - at least from a distance.
Hope you were smiling down last night DaveF at that derby victory over Brentford. RIP. You Rrrrs.
