Shodipo
9 goals in 21 appearances for Oxford so far this season, deserve another chance back at QPR next season?

That’s a good record and he’s looked good when he’s played for us, so definitely.

Re: Shodipo
Given the form he's shown at Oxford the club has a bit of a tricky decision to make over whether to stick or twist. Is he good enough to compete with Chair, Willock, Thomas and Adomah and would he fit into 352 if we continue with that formation?
His contract finishes in 2022 so if he did stay I'd imagine an extension would be needed.

Re: Shodipo
I think one of the main reasons he was sent out on loan was to get match fit as he seemed to constantly struggle with one injury after another. I genuinely believe that he's highly regarded at the club. Is he another Eze? Remains to be seen but if he was 70% of the player that Eze was (when he returned from WW) then he's easily a match for Willock, Thomas or Adomah (though I don't there's any risk of Albert going out on loan next season - he's here to help develop the younger players). I think his fitness is key to his involvement next season. And so far that's looking good.dm wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 6:38 amGiven the form he's shown at Oxford the club has a bit of a tricky decision to make over whether to stick or twist. From where I'm sitting it's Thomas who needs to improve to be involved next season.

Perhaps he needs to improve in order to be used more?

I don't think Thomas has been so effective in the pitch time I have seen him play - maybe down to his recovery from injury. Thought it was a positive cameo against Watford but maybe needs game time out to develop further.

Is 2022 with or without an option for the club to extend the deal?dm wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 6:38 amGiven the form he's shown at Oxford the club has a bit of a tricky decision to make over whether to stick or twist. I like Shodipo and hope he can step up and provide competition. One issue might be the formation though, it's no given that any of our wide players can adapt to playing wing-back. Looking at our squad i'm not sure it's a tenable long term formation. If we revert to 4-5-1 i think a front 3 of him on the left, Chair in the middle and Willock on the right sounds very promising albeit still needing to prove itself.
