Think Mick is more realistic than Eddie. Would be happy with either right now.

We already have a perfectly good manager for what the club is trying to do.

Nonsense, no club tries to get relegated.Esox Lucius wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 1:17 pmWe already have a perfectly good manager for what the club is trying to do.

An off the wall suggestion, but she does promise "quick and easy midweek wins", so we shouldn't write her off too quickly.

Mick McCarthy is another busted flush, like Allardyce and Pulis (and Hughes and Redknapp if anyone was stupid enough to appoint them).
Don't forget that he kick-started Ipswich's capitulation into League One which they are seriously struggling to recover from.

Really, I thought it went t*** up when he left. Waghorn and someone else (who my brain is struggling to recall who) were sold, and the goals dried up. He was replaced by a League One manager who brought in League One quality players (presumably because that was what he knew) and Ipswich sank to Division One. A bit harsh to blame that on Mick McCarthy.old pauline wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 3:45 pmMick McCarthy is another busted flush, like Allardyce and Pulis (and Hughes and Redknapp if anyone was stupid enough to appoint them).

Saturday 9th November 1968: QPR V Burnley in the First Division - I saw the Hoops for the first time and my obsession began!

Re: Big Mick McCarthy Anyone?
Realistically could anyone do a better job based on the financial restraints MW is working against? Holloway has proved he can but i doubt even Ferguson, Mourinho, Klopp, Guardiola, Venables or Francis to name but a few could.
So its a definite NO from me in regards to McCarthy.

Yes, you're right. The rot really set in when they appointed the Shrewsbury manager but I think McCarthy was losing his way before then and they were in decline.ZENITH R wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 3:54 pmReally, I thought it went t*** up when he left.
