Its on the Offish now!
Plus Jordy De Wijs on loan from Hull with a view to a permanent move. He's a 26 year old Dutch centre back - this one expected to be confirmed shortly.

Wow, nice to see a deal go through quickly!
Given our current situation I don’t think we could have done much better. Welcome back Charlie.

Charlie and a CB. Getting business done early - which is good to see.
Now if we can address our fullback situations and get someone solid in the mid..

Re: January 2021 Transfer Thread
Apparently had an offer for the lad Doughty at Charlton too, along with Stoke. Celtic and Rangers hovering with pre contract offers.
Would be a good young prospect and addition to the squad but we do need to look at the full back situation going forwards.

Jordy de Wijs, initially on loan with a view to make permanent. Doesn't start for Hull who are a league below us? 26 years old 6'2 with experience in the Championship and in Holland (youth international) I hear he is a left footer, does that mean Barbet replacement? Barbet had one of his better games against Fulham maybe he was playing for the shirt? .

I don't think he'll be a replacement for anyone. They're looking to send Masterson out on loan, but MW will want the flexibility to play three centrebacks, so we can play 3-5-2, as well as 4-2-3-1.guyrob07 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 10:07 amJordy de Wijs, initially on loan with a view to make permanent. Re: January 2021 Transfer Thread
My understanding was that Jordy de Wijs would be on the bench as cover allowing Masterson to go out on loan.
He really hasn't been playing for Hull lately has he, not even on the bench. He is in the last year of his contract so I wonder if Hull have a Manning type issue with him?

Re: January 2021 Transfer Thread
Ben Whiteman has signed for Preston, so we'll need to look elsewhere for some creativity in midfield. And I do hope we are.

Re: January 2021 Transfer Thread
Huddersfield's Alex Pritchard has been linked but I'm not sure we need another no 10 type of player. I'd have thought a box to box CM would be best. Whiteman looked ideal.

Bad luck for Tom Carroll - may see this crank up the interest in Alex Pritchard and Johnson.

Re: January 2021 Transfer Thread
That is bad news, both for the player and the club. I think we already needed at least one central midfielder, and now it's probably two.

Re: January 2021 Transfer Thread
I reckon we will get one. Bettache looked like a like-for-like for Carroll when he came on against Fulham in the Cup.
Come on you Sooopa ........

Re: January 2021 Transfer Thread
Maybe, but that would be a lot of weight to put on the shoulders of a 20 year-old with next to no experience of Championship football.
