'Boro Match Thread

Right. Let's set the world to rights. 4-0 to the Rangers with Dieng saving two penalties.

Honestly thought Hamalainen (sorry no umlauts) might get a start here. I suppose it might have been potentially throwing him to the lions, though.

Come on you Rs!

Question has to be asked, do we or do we not have a defensive coach?

Dieng has impressed me so far. At half time he has a whoscored rating of 5.8. Not sure why. No chance with the goal (Kakay og?) made good save in off-side situation and dealt with a horrible backpass. The wind has challenged his distribution, but even that hasn’t been bad. We will see what happens in rest of game

That was a tough old game, grateful for the point but conceding
from a set piece once again.
Dieng did well, anyone on here miss Lumley today?

Dieng did well, actually coming way off his line to claim or punch crosses.

Apparently Lumley was dropped as his contract talks have stalled. Good luck with that Joe!

I agree. I don't think Lumley will have a lot of leverage during negotiations.

My two penny worth ...

I'm disappointed we didn't win, because I think we had the opportunities and were the better team.
Luke Amos - sometimes you just need to put your laces through it and hit the target.
I thought BOS was MOTM.
Dykes worked hard, but to get the best out of him we need get better service into him, possibly from out wide
Our set pieces - What the ...?
Their set pieces - What the ...? (For different reasons)
Dieng looked solid - he had no chance with the goal (would a man on the post have helped?) He needs to work on his distribution (though I'm prepared to cut him some slack due to the wind).
I do think Manning would improve that team, but fair play to the club for sticking to their guns. If he is still with us in 2 weeks when the window closes, maybe he'll sign the contract.

Boro looked toothless - what has happened to Assombalonga? He was the deadliest striker at this level moving for big money, but he looked like a National League striker today.

I think we are a couple of signing away from being a very useful team at this level. Defensively though I worry every time the opposition cross the half way line.
Saturday 9th November 1968: QPR V Burnley in the First Division - I saw the Hoops for the first time and my obsession began!

How did Dickie look? Last game I thought he looked like he was in dire he was in dire need of an experienced CB next to him.

From the BBC website:

"Former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom scored on his Middlesbrough debut but they were denied a first Championship win of the season as they were held at QPR."

Really?? The Beeb really have gone right down the pan.
