So our starting line up is ...

Post by nic » Fri Sep 04, 2020 3:31 pm

(if the shirt numbers are anything to go by) ...

Lumley

Kane
Dickie
Barbet
Wallace

BOS
Chair
Cameron
Amos
Manning

Dykes

With a bench of some combination of

Kelly
Masterson
Kakay
Carroll
Shodipo
Oteh
Thomas

Do we think that's about right?

Does it work?

That's about right but I think Kakay might start and Ball will also feature too I think.

I'm interested what people think about Ball.

My sense is that we have better options ... but I'm never sure if he brings more to the team than I see.

He's a utility player that Warburton rates. If all others are performing well then I guess he'll be on the bench. Amos & Cameron are probably the preferred starters.

Thinking about it there'll be no Dykes. He's away with Scotland.

I like him. he really gets stuck in. Better player than Amos or Carroll for that matter.

I hope we see Ball ahead of Cameron, who increasingly looks like this will be a season too far, and Kakay ahead of Kane. Kakay might just turn out to be the surprise of the season.

I have to wonder though, why is the carabo cup even going ahead?. We've got other players away on international duty as well i think so all this will be is a pre season friendly with a bit more at stake.

Different players so not sure it makes sense to compare them. Carroll is a far better passer for instance. I think Ball is a decent player, we need someone to sit in front of the defence and i think he's a better option than Cameron right now. Although we played well with two holding players and giving the wingbacks more freedom.

I think with a condensed schedule they have to fit the games in. I'd have just sacked the stupid thing off.
