Goals

Post by karateelvis » Wed Sep 02, 2020 9:25 am

With the loss of Eze (14), Hugill (15) & Wells (15) from the squad we started last season with, anyone else worried about where the goals will come from this year? A lot of pressure on Dykes & Bright? Realistically, how many will Chair get?

I think the way Warburton wants to play, we won't keep many clean sheets, so goals are a must - but where will they come from?

All over the pitch from front to back.

Mmmm good point,
when Warburton mentions further players to come I'm expecting Harry Kane any time soon given the Eze money...

or am I expecting too much?

Bout time those goalkeepers chipped in. We've got enough of them.

Since last year they are no longer allowed to throw it directly into the opposition net. It was our best chance of our keepers scoring. Mind you, Joe's throw for the BOS assist last season was a decent one.

He also started that fantastic team move which saw Eze score at Stoke.

Isn't everyone worried about this every year :)

There'll be a few more incoming signings, and possibly one or two more going out, so it's hard to call at the moment.

I think we'll definitely be diminished as an attacking force, but with Dickie coming in and maybe others too, I'd hope we'll be stronger defensively.

No. Not at all. I would like to see someone better than that ;-)
It's simple. Score more goals than they do.

Just realised we won’t have Dykes for Saturday’s game as he is on International duty with Scotland.

Listening to Warburton speak I don’t think we are bothered about cup competitions anyway.
