Season tickets 20/21

Post by Archie » Fri Aug 21, 2020 9:07 am

Does anyone know how the club plan to handle season tickets for the upcoming season?

While I do not want to lose my seat I have had for 20+ years there is realistically very little chance of fans actually returning to the stadium safely this term.

I have tried to call the club but struggled to get through.

I've been puzzling about this for a while. I too wish to retain my seat which has a good clear view and good neighbours but can't visualise attending many games in the coming season. Surely the club will make an announcement shortly. I think I'll just renew and take a hit if I can't get to the matches.

What i did was to ring the commercial department and they got Shaun in the box office to call me and he explained everything and got me sorted. lee.hoos@qpr.co.uk if none of that works. He is very helpful and will get the right person to contact you.

What did he explain exactly? It would be kind of interesting to know.

The club have done the right thing suspending ST payment for the time being. I think it's going to be some time before we have normal attendances. It's all very well having limited attendances based on age and medical status but younger more healthy people can still have parents and grandparents to pass the disease on to. A lot of clubs could go to the wall now and the EFL seems impotent. They could suspend their so called "Fair Play" rules for clubs with wealthy backers. Just enough to allow the loss of revenue to be made up. They, along with the EPL could subsidise the smaller clubs with cheap long term loans. They've got he dosh. They need to do the right thing. For once. I must say I miss going to QPR.

Some clarity on how things are going to work from the club would be welcome. Presumably they won't be talking to us all individually.

It's only a week and a half until the season officially starts after all.

I guess it’s a tricky one, if there is anything in the story that sky with the clubs are offering a stream at £10 per game, it starts to cap the revenue somewhat

Personally I don’t think I would feel safe going to a game with thousands of people without there being a vaccine..I’m not in a high risk category but I wouldn’t want to potentially get the virus and pass it on to other people including family....I’ve been a season ticket holder for about 15 years or so but surely the club wouldn’t expect us to pay full price for a virtual season ticket?! I don’t want to lose my seat...honestly if I was told I would be given the chance to get my seat back for the 21/22 season then that would be great but I don’t see why I should have to pay around £515 for that privilege (if that’s the way it’s going to be?!)

What do you all think?!

The official site is now saying that anyone who had a season ticket in 2019-20 will have their seat protected for this year, even if they decide not to renew. A very welcome gesture from the club.

So I, and I assume everyone else on auto renewal received an email yesterday saying that they were going to take the DD from our accounts from 1/10/20 despite the fact that no date has been set for the return of spectators? It may not be safe for another year or more even for people who are willing to attend. They could've waited to see what happens. I take it Hoos has had a barrage of complaints which has prompted this announcement?

Welcome AND excellent news. QPR really are doing things the right way, for the most part, these days.

...that was my main concern..I mean, I love my seat, love the view, love my funny friends seating around me...and I was thinking not to renew even risking to lose it....but also knowing that it was a low risk considering how many new season ticket holders are going to be allowed...
