With longer left on the contract we'd obviously get a bit more but i think we've been a bit unlucky with this one. Before this season he's been nothing special and not worthy of a new long contract. Even this year he's been pretty good and performed above expectations but it's not like he's had some Taarabt level season. Think the money's alright considering.

John Swift going for 3.5m (contracted to Reading until 2022) makes £5m for Bright look like a decent deal. Looks like we’re in for a big post-COVID price correction in the market, think that will benefit Rangers on balance.

A lot of Championship clubs are about to go through the belt-tightening exercise that we’ve already experienced, hopefully that will out is in good stead, and we can reinvest some of the £20m or so we hopefully get for Eze, Bright and maybe Manning into some reasonably-priced young talent from Leagues One and Two and abroad.

Media reports today state BOS has turned down Brugge with Leicester, Brighton and Fulham making moves for his signature. Consequently, BOS is in the frame to play tomorrow.

Completely agree with your assessment, a re correction of the market can already be seen, for instance I didn't know Birmingham were that skint
and others are hiding their deficits, we're in a better place than 4 years ago for sure.

No reason to play him at all, given it's reportedly not in our interests to win, let alone see him injured.

If we've already agreed to sell for 5 i don't know if that negates a bidding war over fee and just means it will be over the terms he gets. FIngers crossed this is worth a few more bob to us.

Agreements been reached now between the clubs. Slightly less than £5m. Up to BOS to decide.

Another article just based on speculation and hearsay.

It's one of those transfer articles that makes you wonder where the impetus for writing it comes from. Maybe his agent. QPR had already agreed a fee last week, and gave him permission to go talk to them, so what is it trying to say? Someone on the QPR Podcast suggested that Bright's agent was rather more into the move than Bright was, which is quite plausible.
5 million seems a bit low to me, and I would want a good sell-on clause with that.
If Leicester are interested, I can see that being a good move for both sides and for the player himself.

Let's hope Bright does a Freeman and signs a new contract with clauses about any possible transfer to a Premier League club....

With his turning down Club Bruges... We could be looking at a cut price Charlie sale

There were rumours Leicester were willing to pay £12M during the close season but Charlie didn't fancy another relegation battle ( ironically they won the league that season ) and had his heart set on the south coast instead...
2020/2021.... Keep Calm, no matter the season, we'll follow our team.....
