Hit for 7

Post by Systemsguy » Sun Jun 14, 2020 3:49 pm

Saw on Twitter we got turned over by Lampards mob 7 - 1....

Hope this is just ring rust (and better opposition) as it could be a long close or season otherwise
2019/2020.... Keep Calm, no matter the season, we'll follow our team.....

Ref was a homer and they watered the pitch both before the game and at half time.

Love it. One behind closed doors friendly against a top 4 PL team, and it's all "woe is me".

Welcome back everyone

We can only hope, the games against WHAM and Chelski were used as training exercises to get the players back on the pitch and stretching themselves in a game environment. COVID-19 and three months of isolation will affect different people in different ways. If these games are an indication of where we are at as a team and as individuals, we are in for a difficult month. If the results were meaningless, as both WHAM and Chelski were at a different point in their preparation, then there's not too much to worry about.

We sit 6 points outside the play offs with 9 games to play. A really decent push could see us finish in the top 6. Personally, I think that is a step too far and too soon, so a top half finish would be more than acceptable.

COYR's!

Crikey I've missed this so much.

We got turned over 4 - 1 by wet spam during the week and restart our season on Saturday....

Hardly inspiring is it with the talk of a playoff push....

Both of those teams were at least a week ahead of us in terms of fitness and the fact that we used nearly all our squad clearly demonstrates that the result was not a priority.
It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope.

Look out Barnsley we've got a point to prove after 2 bad losses 😁

Getting turned 7's a bit much, but honestly, if it's the reality check the lads need to get firing on all cylinders then it may've done us some good.
From the sounds of it we used most/all of the squad, so I'm not really too bothered. They're a top 4 team with a huge budget, lots of depth and resources.

I think Saturday is a must win game for Warburton now

Agreed. I think a list of possible new managers should start now, just in case.

7-1 in a training match will never erase the 6-0 thumping we gave them just before the Milk Cup final that never took place! :D
