Transfer Rumours

Post by deadendjob » Mon Mar 09, 2020 6:13 pm

I figure we'll get a few about Eze/BOS/Manning, so better to consolidate. Here we go:

BOS £8million to West Brom
To be honest, I'd be happy with £8m for BOS. I think that's a good figure. He's a still a rough diamond, but we're now a selling club and we need to cut our cloth accordingly

About right I reckon assuming they're heading for the Premiership. Add a 40% sell on clause just in case.

I still think there's faith in Shopido at the club so perhaps he might be able to step up to replace BOS. A bit injury prone at the moment but hoping he can shake that off.

As has always been the case but the difference now is we do not have to accept any offer. If West Brom have offered £8M then they are prepared to pay more.

...well...the only possible way to retain our best players would be to get promoted too....
any other result would lead to an already lost battle to keep them, considering the money the clubs in the Premier might offer....

That's settled then, no matter how under prepared for the Premier League we might be, a push for the play-offs is now officially on! 8)

Let's just hope football is still "a funny old game".
Question everything.

Let me rephrase that, we're now a "selling club" - to make profit.

BOS has a year left on his contract, he's a long way from the finished product. £8M is around the fee we should expect to pay for him in the scheme of things.

I suppose if he turns out to be good, we'll have to call him The Great Dane.

Tottenham have been scouting Queens Park Rangers midfielder Eberechi Eze, 21, with the Loftus Road outfit set to demand £20m for the England Under-21 international.

So says the Sun via the BBC Gossip page.

How will the transfer window work? It looks increasingly unlikely football will resume on April 4th. So, if by May we still haven't had a restart, how can Eze join Spurs (or anyone) with the current season unfinished? The same goes for any transfers.

Sorry Liverpool, Leeds and WBA the longer this goes on the more likely the whole season will be declared null and void.

Sorry?!?! WBA aside (I don’t actually mind them) it’s be hilarious for Liverpool and Leeds to lose out!

It's unlikely any of the teams will miss out or the season will be declared null & void. If this seasons games aren't concluded then current placings will likely determine the season outcomes. Not sure how a 3rd team from the Championship would be seleceted but it seems fairest to just pick the team currently in 3rd place. Harsh but probably the best approach.
