A proven striker at this level....

I'm glad we are financially responsible enough not to shell out £4M for him with little or no resale value ....

Wish him well apart from against us....
Generally I'd agree with that but circumstances dictate.

Our main goalscorer, Benik Afobe on season long loan from Stoke, is out for the season with an ACL injury leaving us really struggling for goals.

As ever I hope for shared points when we meet tomorrow.
You might find he takes a while to settle, so don't expect him to be scoring from the off. He was hardly prolific last season for us and even missed two penalties, we lost both games, had he scored we would have drawn them both.

A bargain for Bristol City at that price. They're clearly an ambitious club whose owners recognise that promotion to the Premier League is the only way forward. Meanwhile our Director of Football's most noticeable acquisition in the striking department in the last five years is spending £2.5m on Conor Washington. aniclap
Also a club that have brought in close to £60M in transfer fees for Webster, Brownhill, Pack, Kelly, Bryan and Reid over the last two seasons, meaning £5M for a 30 year old isn't quite such a big gamble for them.

Apparently Oteh is being recalled from Bradford.

Assuming that's to fill the space left by Wells departure.

Grind out those results boys.

Perhaps the second half of the season will be all about defending....

Well, only a few hours till the window “ slams shut “, and with Oteh returning it looks like we're not going to have a late signing of a new striker or anything else for that matter.

Let's get the requisite amount of points on the board to ensure safety and enjoy the likes of Eze and BOS while they're still with us. We have Smyth to come back to us next season so things still look pretty much OK.

Exactly. I mean they sold Aden Flint who was close to 30 two seasons ago for cica £8m. They developed players and sold them, exactly like we need to.
