I was hoping he'd sign for another spell but it's looking unlikely now.

I'd imagine we're not prepared to pay him what he's asking but he's yet to sign for another club so he could still end up coming to us.

He was retweeting some QPR stuff not so long ago, which I guess would indicate he wants to stay here. Whether or not a deal is/can be worked out, we'll have to wait and see.
Tbh I'd like to have him for another season.

I would think his wages will be an issue. Especially if he is not going to be a regular starter. If that is the case what happens to Furlong. I don’t think that makes sense Warburton left Brentford because he likes a small squad. The likes of Rangel on the bench is not a Warburton move

Maybe we’ve only offered him a pay if you play only contract ? And if Furlong is considered Warbs first choice, it might not be in his best interests.
Do coaches wages get included in FFP ? Offer him a player coach role, half the wages for each role. Gives us cheap cover and him a year to get his badges.....?

FFP is about losses not wages so that would not be a way round it
