I remember the signings of Derry and Hill and how underwhelmed everyone was a load of years back..... players seemingly trusted by a manager not a lot of people particularily liked or wanted at the start of that season when we signed them...

lets give them a chance huh.... before writing them off?

Admittedly we now need strikers but we seem to have filled a few gaps where our more expensive failures have been let go and hopefully the players signed are hungry to prove themselves...
2018/2019.... Keep Calm, no matter the season, we'll follow our team.....

I wonder if Hemed or Wells might be open to a permanent move.
Won't get Nahki, he's the England Women's penalty taking coach now

Thinking that the club have not spent anything yet - money being saved for strikers?

A pretty underwhelming signing.

Unable to break through at Rotherham who’ve been relegated from this level twice in the three seasons that he’s been there.

Another ex-Warburton player too, which isn’t a good thing IMO. Defeating the whole object of a DOF and scouting network that we had supposedly put in place for the long-term.

Lessons learned eh?

Apart from what other people have said about it bypassing our scouting efforts, too many new players associated with the new manager runs the risk of factions breaking out in the squad.
Think one thing you can say about McClaren is that he at least assembled a squad with a decent atmosphere, with players that seemed to like each other and had a good attitude.

True but Derry and Hill were accompanied by the likes of Taraabt, Helgusson, an in form Mackie, Routledge and Smith and the blend of attacking skills and defensive grit was really effective.

As it stands our new unheard of signings are accompanied by a bunch of kids who can't dominate a game like a Taraabt or score the goals of a Helgusson or Mackie.
Come on you Sooopa ........
