2019/20 Championship Fixtures..

Post by westlondonlalala » Mon Jun 17, 2019 5:15 pm

With the Fixtures released 9am this Thursday morning who Would you like on the opening day & why?

Season begins Fri 2nd August.

I’ll kick it off by saying Barnsley Home, very good recent home record vs the Tykes & a good opportunity for Mr Warburton to get off to a flyer.

...an easy home fixture, to start with a win, giving some confidence to the group....

Away @ West Brom. We can't do any worse than last year so whatever the result it would be an improvement.

I don't really mind who we get first up. In a way it would be good to get a northern powerhouse away because you know that we are not going to beat them on a wet Tuesday night in winter so we might have a chance on a roasting hot summer Saturday afternoon. So maybe a Boro or Leeds away.

That said, we didn't do very well away at Preston in our first game last season.

There are quite a lot of shitty sides in the division - Leeds, Cardiff, Derby, Preston, Brum.

I think its best to get one of the above out of the way with the chance of sneaking a result if we have been well prepared over the preceding weeks.
Come on you Sooopa ........

A home fixture would be great. Increases the chances of winning the first game which, early on, could set us up for a nice, early season run.
Confidence is always a big issue in football.
