Interesting to see a few sites saying we're close to signing Cameron on loan again. Even though we've signed two loanees who play the DCM role, I'd be pleased to see Cameron back as he would provide a physical presence those two lads lack.

Apparently, the club want Rangel back too.
Hope they're not expecting too much in wages.....we seem to have a lot of players on the books again, especially as most seem to think we will sign a couple of strikers.
Apparently Stoke would pay some of Cameron's wages which is at least something. I agree it seems we do have too many players on the books so perhaps we'll see more departing/out on loan.

..well we need someone to score goals...we lost all our top scorers from last season...Smith, Wells, Hemed, Freeman all gone...

Problem is we have zero to spend apparently & zero to offer on wages so I’m scratching my head as to what sort of striker that attracts.

The only option I can see is more loans, young unproven premier league youngsters to play upfront or an out of favour striker on wedge at a club that are willing to lend him if we can pay some of his wages, problem is how much of his wages can we afford. I.e Hogan

We brought in Nakhi Wells and Toner Hemed last year so should be at least scope to do the same again this year, and if Mass Luongo is sold, maybe some funds will be released to put towards strikers.

If we can secure both Cameron and Rangel again then barring the striker situation being sorted, the squad would have a fairly decent look about it.

Sorry, meant to same that we should be able to do similar in terms of loan signings for striker roles.

Indeed but we might have to wait until the Premier League clubs announce their squads before signing any loan agreements.

Did we sign Jason Holt in the end. It looked like a lot of people were very sure, and I thought it had happened, but it seems like the whole thing just fizzled out.

I don't think that happened - alot of rumours but nothing official.

There was also the young striker at Rangers mentioned as well - Hardie? Not seen anything since there.

Most recent rumours seem to be for Geoff Cameron and Alan Judge.

Given Warburton's article about strikers and waiting on Premier League and Championship clubs to sort out their playing rotas, plus the way we seem to have gone back in for Angel Rangel and Geoff Cameron, I wonder if Nahki Wells is on the list too?

Someone who has played for us at this level, and penalties aside, had a positive impact?

Wells seemed to leave on good terms despite what must have been a disappointing season. Also has experience which I think we need up front. Maybe too expensive though.

I’d certainly have Wells back for another season assuming the club don’t have any aces up their sleeves. In fact, I’d be delighted if we could secure someone of his quality in our current predicament.

There was a feeling last season that things weren’t coming off for him but only by a whisker. With a bit of luck/confidence he could easily be getting 15-20 goals for us.

I agree, but don't let him take any pens.

I would have swapped one of our wins for him putting away that penalty against Birmingham

The squad for the Austria pre-season is on the offish now, minus Luongo. Looks like he"s on his way out then. No Goss either but I'm not sure if anyone's seen him in recent times !

The lesser spotted Goss.

More chance of bumping into Lord Lucan walking down the Uxbridge Road than Goss.
