Shopido

Post by ZENITH R » Fri Apr 12, 2019 6:08 pm

Is he injured?

A return to the first team squad, a couple of appearances on the bench, and whoosh ... gone again.

His return from injury coincided with a horrible run of form and pressure on management.

I had such high hopes for Shodipo, he’s been so unlucky.

I did too. Handled poorly by IH then dreadfully unlucky.

Lost 2-0 with what was basically a U18-s side.

..I know nothing about this Shopido.....I remember a Shodipo, Irish, black, tiny, fast player,.....from my same area in west Dublin..

...and last Saturday, that Walker that came in in the last 10 minutes...he looked lively and good to see, though he did not have time to show much..

Giorgio beat me to it. I wonder if constantly being made to sound like a nonce by fans and commentators finally ruined the lad's confidence. I think it's fair to assume with the squad trimming that we're about to do he is unlikely to be kept on.

Shodipo has signed a one year extension. I'm a little surprised given how little we've seen of him but pleased we can hopefully take another look at the lad before making a permanent decision.

..well, the first ever time I saw him was on the opening season match vs Leeds - that we won 3-0 -
He was playing on the left wing and their right back could not hold him at all....

He looked good when he came on against Forest replacing Walker.

I thought his time was up at QPR. Given we're not in a position to turn down even a small chance the lad may come good, and that he'll be on low wages, a 12 month extension seems very sensible.

He's bulked up since his first season. The same as with Grant Hall, its purely a matter of whether he can rid himself of his injury demons. If he can then I reckon he can tear defences apart.

Get everyone fit and running hard and we only need to get a goalscorer over the line.

But that is the issue, the demands of the game and the number of games we have to play means that a fair few players can't be relied upon to be part of any manager's plans really.
Come on you Sooopa ........

Agreed, he looked an excellent prospect back then.
