Whoever we get is going to find the job hard going, so may as well have people who have the goodwill of the crown to buy them some grace!

According to the Telegraph we've interviewed Michael Appleton.

True, although Rui Almeida does point to somebody potentially with fresh ideas and an injection of energy which
has been lacking.
What do we know about him to suggest he will bring fresh ideas and energy ? And surely neither would be the sole preserve of a foreign manager.

I don't know much about Appleton but unless I'm mistaken he hasn't exactly got a brilliant managerial cv. So other than being available does anyone know why he'd be good for us?

Also if true then it looks like we want to appoint someone asap.

I've heard some quite good things about Appleton - a couple of seasons back he was being highly spoken of and sought after - for a Premiership job if I remember rightly, can't remember which one though. I think he could be OK for us.

Was close to being appointed West Brom manager last year before they chose Darren Moore I believe.

Around the time that JF-H was appointed I was raising a banner for both Chris Wilder and Michael Appleton as being the right sort for QPR. Wilder has gone on and been successful with the Blades but Appleton, after good success and easy on the eye playing style, at Oxford had pinned his flag to being No. 2 at Leicester, who also play nice football. He left when Puel was appointed Foxes manager.

Tim Sherwood is director of football Les Ferdinand’s first choice Can anyone supporting QPR not be sickened by this statement from the above article in WLS. Hopefully it's wrong.

Oh please, not Bircham. Assuming you haven't just made it up that's even lazier journalism than Tim Sherwood.

How about Carlos Carvalhal? Ex Owls & Swansea. Always struck me as a decent chap & manager. Too expensive perhaps but currently out of work.

You're right, not exclusive to foreign managers but what we've tried so far in the last 10 years
certainly hasn't worked, so why not invite him?

Trojan there is no way that Wagner would come to us. We are a lower Championship /League 1 side with no money and need to sell our star player in the summer. The so called youngsters , bar Chair, are sitting on the bench for League 1 sides so not a lot there either. We will be going a lot lower than Wagner.
